This position requires strong technical capability, safety leadership, quality accountability, and the ability to maintain productive working relationships with clients, inspectors, and crew members while delivering high-performance results.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(218, 37, 28); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Construction &amp; Maintenance</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems (12kV-230kV).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Perform energized work in accordance with approved utility standards, safe work procedures, and company policies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Install and maintain poles, anchors, guying systems, insulators, transformers, switches, regulators, and associated hardware.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Perform cable pulling, splicing, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting of underground systems.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Operate and maintain specialized equipment including bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners, and associated line tools.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Read and interpret construction drawings, switching orders, and technical specifications accurately.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Perform switching, isolation, and worker protection grounding in accordance with approved work methods.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Safety Leadership </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Lead by example in promoting and maintaining VIP Powerline’s strong safety culture.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ensure strict adherence to minimum approach distances, lockout/tagout procedures, worker protection grounding, fall protection, and other critical life-saving rules.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Conduct and actively participate in tailboard meetings, hazard assessments, and job briefings.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Proactively identify hazards and implement effective risk mitigation strategies in dynamic field environments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Mentor apprentices and crew members in safe work practices and technical skill development.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, utility standards, and internal safety policies.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Quality Management</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Deliver workmanship that meets or exceeds client specifications and industry standards.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Conduct field-level quality checks to ensure installations are compliant, complete, and properly documented.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Maintain accurate and timely documentation including daily reports, equipment logs, switching records, and as-builts.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Communicate effectively with supervisors, inspectors, engineers, and client representatives to ensure clarity of scope and expectations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Take full ownership of assigned work to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Interprovincial Red Seal Powerline Technician Certification.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">3-5+ years of experience working on energized overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Valid Class 3 or Class 1 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Demonstrated competency in live-line and rubber glove methods.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Strong knowledge of utility construction standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Willingness and ability to travel throughout Vancouver Island and surrounding Gulf Islands, as required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(218, 37, 28);
