We are our employees&rsquo; biggest fans, and it is our daily mission to attract, develop, and retain the brightest stars in the business.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The Online Editor facilitates the content objectives (i.e. developing and managing content) for Radio One&rsquo;s radio station websites in the Charlotte market. The position is responsible for increasing the sites&rsquo; online traffic and engagement through the maintained programming of local, regional, and national content, the management of internal and external content sources, implementation of various traffic-driving products, and linking the stations&rsquo; on-air and off-line marketing and promotional activities to the sites. The position leads the development of local traffic-driving strategies and executes strategies developed at the national level.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Reporting on, and engaging with, local Charlotte and surrounding area events and activity</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Scoping, editing, and writing posts about Sports, News and Entertainment, collected from both the local and national level as well as aggregating content from internal and external sources</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals through the development and implementation of local strategies.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Training radio personalities in the creation and maintenance of content.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Collaborating with the stations&#39; Program Director, Operations Manager, and/or Marketing/Promotions leads to maintain the vision, voice, and brand direction of the station online</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain and grow all digital platforms including the station&rsquo;s social network accounts, SMS clubs, mobile streaming apps, and newsletters</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Working with the Regional Online Editor and Director of Content to leverage national programming opportunities, tools, and strategies&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ensuring compelling and up-to-date content is always available will be the Online Editor&#39;s best way of influencing these key performance indicators.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong understanding of digital performance metrics, including Unique Visitors (UVs), Pageviews (PVs), time on site, bounce rate, and impressions, with the ability to analyze and optimize content performance using tools such as Google Analytics and Parse.ly.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knows effective ways to distribute, promote and market your content over the web.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knowledge of how to publish to and maintain a site using a content management system (CMS), WordPress a plus</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must know how to perform photo resizing and audio and video editing using programs including Adobe Photoshop, iMovie, and Sound Studio.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Familiar with and knows how to analyze metrics.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Social media optimization knowledge, specifically regarding Twitter and Facebook.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">You must have an abiding fascination with, and/or deep knowledge of Country and today&#39;s hit music and pop culture</li></ul><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">You must be an absolute web junkie, familiar with all websites that cover news, entertainment, celebrity, gossip and events</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Fully knowledgeable of, and an active participant in, the local community, culture and events&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">You must be able to evangelize the website internally and externally and work as part of a team&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">You must be enthusiastic and disciplined; a self-starter that can thrive in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and aggressive performance targets</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Spanish-speaking is a plus but not required.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Submit to a criminal background check</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Legal right to work in the United States</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Associate degree or BA/BS in communication, journalist. 3 years of experience finding and producing editorial content online.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties or responsibilities.
