    "requisitionDescription": "<div><span style='font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;font-weight:normal;'>Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Workforce Development, the Automotive Technology Instructor will engage in a variety of learning support and instructional/institutional practices; recruit, advise and mentor students by providing a positive and encouraging environment for learning; and, work collaboratively within the Workforce Development department to include service on various college committees. &nbsp;The instructional load may consist of day/night classes; face-to-face, online, and hybrid delivery, and on and off campus classes. &nbsp;The instructor must be able to design and implement new courses to curriculum as needed.&nbsp;</span><span style='font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Base salary is determined based on the matrix outlined in the Faculty Negotiated Agreement considering credentials and experience.&nbsp;</span><div><link href=\"https://static.workforcenow.adp.com/mas/mdf-components/25.6.13/styles/froala_style.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"><div class=\"fr-view\"><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>Essential Functions/Responsibilities</u></strong></p><ul><li>To understand and commit to the mission of the College ~&nbsp;Dodge City Community College provides a student-centered learning environment where students can achieve their educational, personal, and career goals.</li><li>Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods, and remaining current on discipline specific and pedagogical issues.</li><li>Commit to familiarizing, implementing and utilizing current forms of technology both in instruction and when communicating with staff and students.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Facilitate learning in Automotive Technology or&nbsp;related courses ranging from introductory to advanced.</li><li>Ability to instruct, set up and maintain all laboratory courses associated with community college-level Automotive Technology courses.</li><li>Prepare syllabi and learning materials for classroom use. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Teach an instructional load which may consist of day, night, on/off campus, interactive television or weekend classes.&nbsp;</li><li>Organize and maintain appropriate classroom records and management techniques.</li><li>Order and maintain program inventory for instructional tools/equipment.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop curriculum to meet Kansas Board of Regents course guidelines.</li><li>Promote competency-based education; identify desired student results.</li><li>Assist with community outreach and participation in appropriate advisory committees.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide academic/technical/transfer advisement of students.</li><li>Recruit students.</li><li>Participate in departmental and institutional committees.</li><li>Maintain appropriate office hours to assist students.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><em>The above job description supersedes all previous descriptions. &nbsp; This description is intended to be a tool to describe the primary purpose of the job and the Essential Functions and Responsibilities. &nbsp;The job description may not be inclusive of all duties and job responsibilities. &nbsp; Administration has the right to add to or change the job responsibilities to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods at any time.</em></p><p><strong><u>Required Qualifications</u></strong></p><ul><li>High School Graduate or GED completer.</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree and/or applicable college-level course work or appropriate training/experience. Military experience strongly considered.</li><li>Extensive knowledge of Automotive Technology, including equipment maintenance, installation, quality control, and operation monitoring.</li><li>Valid industry-recognized credentials in Automotive Technology. &nbsp;Teaching and/or training experience.</li><li>Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work with groups, organizations, and institution.</li><li>Computer skills and ability to use technology in the classroom.</li><li>Must obtain and maintain a valid Kansas driver&rsquo;s license.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Preferred Qualifications</u></strong></p><ul><li>Master&rsquo;s degree or higher in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours.</li><li>Community College or College/University teaching experience.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Physical Requirements:</u></strong>&nbsp; With or without assistance</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Physical ability to work on Electrical equipment.</li><li>Ability to lift and carry 20-50 lbs</li><li>Ability to work on feet (standing, walking, constant movement) for an extended period of time.</li><li>Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, climb, crawl, and lift objects.</li><li>Ability to communicate, hear, and see student, staff, and faculty.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Supervisory Responsibilities</u></strong></p><ul><li>None</li></ul><p><strong><u>Building Assignment</u></strong></p><ul><li>Tech Center</li></ul></div></div></div>\n",
