They are on-site to ensure that construction activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and according to the project plans and specifications. Superintendents play a critical role in coordinating various tasks, managing subcontractors and laborers, and ensuring that the project progresses smoothly. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, management skills, and the ability to handle complex and diverse challenges specific to a certain area or scope of a project.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This is a full-time, permanent position and could alternate between our HQ office located in Durham, NC, and client locations.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Successful candidate may be hired level I, II, III, or Senior based on education + years of relevant experience.</em></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Responsibilities </span></span><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Manage the construction process in a specific area or scope, which involves planning, organizing, and coordinating all the activities necessary to complete the project on time and within budget</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Oversee the work of subcontractors, laborers, and other personnel working on-site. Ensure that work is being performed correctly and efficiently</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Create and manage schedules for construction activities within the designated area or scope, ensuring that work progresses in a timely manner and that different tasks are properly sequenced</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Responsible for maintaining high-quality construction standards. Conduct inspections, review workmanship, and ensure that construction is in compliance with design specifications and industry standards</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Play a crucial role in enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring that all workers adhere to safety regulations</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Handle conflicts, whether they involve personnel, schedules, or technical matters, to keep the project running smoothly</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Serve as a communication hub between project managers, architects, subcontractors, and workers. Relay information about project progress, changes, and challenges to the relevant parties</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Coordinate the delivery and use of construction materials, tools, and equipment within a specific are or scope to ensure that resources are utilized efficiently</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities, including work completed, issues encountered, and any changes made to the original plans</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Monitor costs related to their area of responsibility and work to ensure that the project stays within budget</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Understand and help execute the project schedule and work plan</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Understand subcontractor scopes, help in the buyout process, and oversee day-to-day activities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Review submittals from the general contractor and coordinate with engineering</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Understand quality control, document control, and communication plans</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Is aware of and enforces contracts with contractors and consultants</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Monitor progress and adjust as needed</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Measure task 15px\">Activities include extended periods of sitting, movement, and extensive work at a computer and phone.</span></li>\n<li>Occasional heavy lifting (30+ lb. / 13.6+ kg) can be expected, though exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force is more common.
