Overview GE Wind Turbine Technician – GE LOTO Certified Level 2 – Field Activation Role |100% Travel | GE Fleet Support About the Role Sky Climber Renewables is seeking GE LOTO–Certified Wind Turbine Technicians to support active GE wind turbine service scopes across U.S. wind projects. This role is designed for technicians who already hold current GE Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) authorization and can be deployed quickly into the field with minimal ramp-up. This is not an entry-level role and not a generic travel technician position. This role exists to activate GE-qualified technicians who understand GE safety protocols, turbine systems, and work authorization requirements and can operate compliantly from day one. What You’ll Do Deploy as part of SCR’s GE-qualified field workforce supporting GE wind turbine projects Travel 100% on a rotational basis to GE wind projects across the U.S. Perform GE-specific Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in support of mechanical, electrical, and inspection scopes Support turbine inspections, maintenance, and service activities under GE safety and quality standards Execute work in accordance with GE procedures, customer requirements, and SCR safety expectations Follow defined work instructions, maintenance schedules, and task plans Assist with troubleshooting and diagnostic activities within scope and training Complete all required company and client documentation accurately and on time Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and compliant condition Operate company and customer vehicles safely and in compliance with SCR policies Escalate technical or safety issues appropriately through defined channels Perform additional work activities as directed to support GE project execution GE Certifications & Activation Requirements (Required) Current GE Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Authorization Global Wind Organisation (GWO) certifications: Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), Advanced Rescue Training (ART) Ability to maintain required certifications including OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, CPR/AED, First Aid, and GE safety and technical requirements This role prioritizes technicians who are already GE-authorized and ready for immediate field deployment Technical Qualifications Wind industry experience supporting mechanical and/or electrical service activities Understanding of basic AC/DC electrical circuits Ability to verify electrical connections and follow schematics and work instructions Proficiency using standard hand and power tools required for wind turbine service Ability to follow GE work procedures precisely and consistently Strong focus on safety compliance, task execution, and documentation accuracy Ability to work effectively in structured, rule-driven environments Professional Expectations Strict adherence to GE, OSHA, customer, and SCR safety policies Professional conduct, appearance, and communication on site Ability to work independently or as part of a crew Willingness to receive direction and follow established processes Proactive communication of risks, issues, or delays Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to climb wind turbines vertically 300 feet or more Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs Ability to work indoors or outdoors in varying and adverse weather conditions Exposure to high and low ambient temperatures Weight requirement of 120–280 lbs, including clothing, boots, and standard personal protective equipment Employment Conditions Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Ability to pass background check(s) and drug screening This is a safety-sensitive position per GE and SCR requirements About Sky Climber Renewables Sky Climber Renewables (SCR) provides specialized field services to the utility-scale wind industry across North America.
