    "description": "<p><br></p>\n<p><br>Meat Department Manager</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>$21.50 - $26.50 per hour</p>\n<p><span>Full-time </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Permanent Position</li>\n<li>40 hours per week on average</li>\n<li>Health, dental, vision, life, and AD&amp;D insurance </li>\n<li>401K Retirement Package with up to 4% employer match </li>\n<li>Paid Vacation and Personal Time</li>\n<li>Training and Scholarships up to $1,000 per term </li>\n<li><span>Premium Pay increase of .50¢/hour for all eligible employees working any hours on Saturday-Sunday, and weekdays before 6 am, or after 7 pm</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Position Overview</p>\n<p><br>● Plan, direct, and coordinate daily operations of the Meat Department<br>● Meet sales, gross, and labor goals<br>● Department scheduling and time card approval<br>● Staff recruitment, orientation, and training<br>● Workplace safety<br>● Basic maintenance and repairs</p>\n<p><br>Receive, store, and issue sales floor merchandise. Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and<br>tables with merchandise and arrange merchandise displays to attract customers. Identify and<br>wrap cuts of meat using manual and mechanical methods. May periodically take physical<br>count of stock or check and mark merchandise.</p>\n<p><br>Essential Job Functions</p>\n<p><br>● Answer customers' questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection.<br>● Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise.<br>● Receive, open, unpack, and issue sales floor merchandise.<br>● Clean display cases, shelves, and aisles.<br>● Compare merchandise invoices to items actually received to ensure that shipments are correct.<br>● Wrap, weigh, label, and price cuts of meat.<br>● Prepare and place meat cuts and products on the display counter, so they will appear attractive and catch the shopper's eye.<br>● Direct and coordinate activities of department production, pricing, and sales<br>● Review performance data and assess goal achievement to determine areas needing improvement<br>● Managing staff, overseeing work schedules, and assigning specific duties<br>● Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures<br>● Communicating issues with subordinates and superiors as necessary<br>● Determine staffing requirements, interview, hire and oversee training of new employees<br>● Work with other managers in planning and directing promotional activities<br>● Oversee the workplace safety in the Meat Department<br>● Knowledge of departmental mechanical systems, monitoring and basic maintenance of equipment</p>\n<p><br>Requirements</p>\n<p><br>● Previous Department Manager, Supervisor, or equivalent experience<br>● Ability to pass a background check.<br>● Intermediate knowledge and experience with computer systems<br>● Experience using office suites in a business setting, or equivalent education<br>● Ability to follow written instructions exactly<br>● Comfort performing monetary transactions<br>● Ability to communicate clearly with employees, customers, and vendors<br>● Strong organizational skills</p>\n<p><br>Other Skills/Abilities</p>\n<p><br>● Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.<br>● Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.<br>● Personnel and Human Resources — Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation, and personnel information systems.<br>● Clerical — Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.<br>● Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
