Employees teach students through example and counsel how to make choices that exemplify these principles and expectations, while recognizing that the roles of employees and students are distinct from each other, and their choices will reflect these differences. Employees have a higher standard for dress and grooming. When choosing attire, employees make decisions appropriate for their professional role, responsibilities, purpose, and setting. Dress for men and women should be modest in fit and style and be neat and clean. Sloppy, overly casual, ragged, or extreme clothing is not acceptable. Hair should be clean, neat, modest, and avoid extremes in styles and colors. Men's hair should be neatly trimmed. Men should be clean shaven. If worn, mustaches should be neatly trimmed. Application Details The application system will store candidate information. Once submitted, application details will be shared with Church Education System (CES) partners involved in the selection process. Graders evaluate student assignments by properly utilizing program-developed rubrics and feedback templates and diligently following outlined policies and procedures to ensure accurate and consistent grading evaluation, actionable feedback, and timely turnaround times. This position contributes directly to student success through thoughtful assessment and guidance. This position does not work directly with the student and is not a teaching or curriculum development role. Responsibilities Meet rigorous department certification criteria to show mastery of content to be assessed Evaluate assigned number of student assignments (on average 100-300 assignments per week) Apply university and department-level procedures and materials in evaluating student work Utilize established rubrics and department-created feedback templates to ensure consistent quality standards Leverage content expertise to respond promptly to student questions about assignment scoring Coordinate with supervisors to resolve grading concerns and ensure fair determination of student performance Participate in weekly training courses and meetings to receive ongoing guidance and professional development Implement feedback received from leadership when grading future student submissions Qualifications NOTE: An applicant’s résumé and official transcripts will be used to determine eligibility for grading the PathwayConnect courses. Please clearly highlight relevant education, professional work, and technologies on your résumé. Fluency in Spanish and English (required) Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field with strong academic performance in the subjects of basic English/Spanish and Math Strong understanding of and commitment to BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s mission, defining characteristics, and student population An ability to follow and apply strict procedures and guidelines with accuracy and efficiency An ability to maintain focus (even through repetitive tasks) while also managing complex cognitive loads An ability to adapt quickly to new processes and procedures and also new technology Strong interpersonal skills— specifically an ability to be considerate, respectful, unbiased, and professional in emotionally-charged situations Strong track record of reliability in following through on commitments and getting the job done properly and in a timely manner (with little prompting) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Individuals who are most successful in this position are: Self-motivated and organized Able to manage their time well throughout the week to meet rigorous deadlines Able to adapt thinking to align with training and the grading team Decisive and confident in following established training when evaluating student work Patient and caring toward all students, including those who have limited educational background This is a part-time work from home position with the following flexible schedule: 10-20 hours per week (may vary week-to-week) At least 5 days worked each week Minimum 2-hour working sessions Required attendance at periodic team meetings (as established by the department) This position requires: An adequate and reliable computer with speakers Headphones or earbuds A quality microphone and webcam Regular access to high-speed internet Additional Documentation Requirement Candidates who are selected to advance to the next stages of the hiring process will be required to provide the following academic documents: Copy of original transcript (registro historial académico) Copy of diploma (front and back) that clearly shows either the date of completion or the date of graduation/commencement ceremony (fecha de colación de grado) Academic documents issued by international institutions are acceptable, provided that the documents are officially recognized in their country of origin. (Bacharelado/Licenciatura) In-progress transcripts and associate's degrees are not acceptable. A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for the position.
