Coverage is primarily needed during surgery week, which occurs one week each month, Monday through Friday, during egg retrievals. Shifts begin at 7:00 a.m. and end after the last case is completed. Each day averages 5&ndash;9 cases, with each case lasting approximately 30 minutes.
