This role supports the EHS Manager in implementing and maintaining safety and environmental programs while driving day-to-day execution, conducting inspections, leading training sessions, and fostering a strong safety culture. The Specialist serves as a visible, hands-on partner for operations teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating risk, and continuously improving EHS performance.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Act as a visible presence on the manufacturing floor, engaging with teams to promote a safe working environment.</li><li>Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, and company standards.</li><li>Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and job hazard analyses (JHAs), and communicate findings with leadership.</li><li>Lead or support hot work permits, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and working-at-heights programs, including inspections, documentation, and training.</li><li>Coordinate and deliver operator training for forklifts, aerial lifts, and overhead cranes; maintain training records.</li><li>Participate in incident investigations, perform initial root cause analysis, and support corrective action follow-up.</li><li>Track, analyze, and report EH&amp;S metrics, including near-misses, incidents, and compliance trends, to support continuous improvement.</li><li>Assist with environmental compliance tasks, including hazardous waste management, container labeling, inspections, and regulatory reporting.</li><li>Support air permits, stormwater, SPCC, and water discharge compliance programs; maintain required documentation.</li><li>Participate in spill response preparedness, emergency drills, and business continuity planning.</li><li>Partner with supervisors and employees to identify improvement opportunities and reduce workplace risk.</li><li>Promote sustainability initiatives, including recycling, energy efficiency, and waste reduction efforts.</li><li>Support audit readiness for internal and external regulatory inspections.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>&nbsp;Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health &amp; Safety, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>&nbsp;OSHA 30 (General Industry) certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months.</li><li>&nbsp;5+ years’ experience in quality management.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing with exposure to high-risk processes (hot work, heavy machinery, hazardous materials).</li><li>Authorized trainer credentials in Forklift, Aerial Lift, or Overhead Crane Safety.</li><li>Experience supporting environmental compliance (waste management, SPCC, stormwater, air permitting).</li></ul><p><strong>Core Competencies and Behaviors:</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state/local regulations.</li><li>Strong observational and risk assessment skills.</li><li>Proficiency in incident investigation, documentation, and reporting.</li><li>Effective communicator, able to influence coach peers.</li><li>Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze safety performance metrics.</li><li>Time management and prioritization skills with a sense of urgency.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.</li></ul>",
