Description
T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. We're focused on building advanced American manufacturing and we're passionate about engineering a better future filled with abundant energy.
The Role
The Training and Development Specialist is responsible for the systematic administration, coordination, and execution of all workforce training programs at the Wilmer manufacturing facility. This role serves as the primary liaison between Human Resources, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Production Operations to ensure that all personnel are technically proficient, safety-compliant, and aligned with ISO quality standards.
What You'll Do
Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of the employee training process, including initial orientation, specialized technical on-boarding, and recurring annual certifications.
Facilitate training sessions in both English and Spanish, for any requested trainings from any departments, ensuring that complex technical procedures and safety protocols are communicated clearly to a diverse workforce.
Maintain the facility’s Training Matrix with a high degree of accuracy. Ensure all training records are audit-ready and compliant with corporate policies and federal regulations.
Collaborate with Production Supervisors to perform hands-on competency assessments on the manufacturing floor, verifying that operators can safely and effectively execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Assist in the development and updating of training manuals, visual aids, and digital learning modules to reflect current engineering changes and process improvements.
Manage the local implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS), tracking completion rates and identifying skill gaps within specific production shifts.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a training or supervisory role within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Proven experience conducting group instruction, with a requirement of having taught classes of 10 or more students/employees simultaneously.
Professional-level fluency in English and Spanish is required (both verbal and written).
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with industrial Learning Management Systems.
Foundational understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S methodologies, and OSHA safety standards.
Demonstrated ability to present information to large groups and interface professionally with executive leadership and floor-level operators alike.
The T1 Way
We move fast, expect accountability, and treat people with respect. We also have a no-jerks policy: we don't tolerate big egos, bad behavior or "that's not my job attitude". Be sharp, be honest, be human. If you can hold the line and have a sense of humor, you'll fit right in.
T1 Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and applicants and do not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristics.
