    "description": "<h2>Description</h2>\n<p>This is a Project Lead Structural Engineer position that offers a variety of interesting and challenging opportunities in structural engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity to advance your career. In this position you will guide a team of structural engineers, interface with clients and engineers from other disciplines as well as manage a variety of exciting projects. This position will enable you to:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Apply your knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design in the successful execution of assigned tasks</li>\n <li>Work on a wide range of projects for various clients and interface with them as required</li>\n <li>Direct the preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, reports and other deliverables and support designers with drawing development. </li>\n <li>Supervise and mentor others in the development of quality engineering deliverables</li>\n <li>Perform the structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using our state-of-the-art computer tools</li>\n <li>Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days. </strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in Canada for this position.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This position may require access to U.S. export-controlled information. As such, candidates must be a citizen of a country listed in Appendix A to Part 810 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Please click here to determine your eligibility.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Essential skills and experience: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board-accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET-accredited program</li>\n <li>Ten or more years of experience working as a member of a project team in the design and analysis of industrial / heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures</li>\n <li>Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS</li>\n <li>Proficiency with design codes and standards such as  ASCE 7, AISC, and , ACI </li>\n <li>Good written and verbal communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p> Valued, but not required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Active Ontario Power Generation (OPG) security clearance</li>\n <li>MSCE degree</li>\n <li>P.Eng license</li>\n <li>On site construction support experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Sargent and Lundy is fully committed to abiding by all equal opportunity employment standards.
