We provide a home away from home.</p>\n<p>Location: Lanham, MD</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary </span></p>\n<p>Second Family Nursing Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide essential care to children with medically complex needs. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with individuals, families and healthcare teams to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care in a home or community-based setting. From managing medical care to offering emotional support during appointments and outings, you’ll play a vital part in each child’s day-to-day well-being.</p>\n<p>At Second Family, we believe in providing more than just care—we offer a loving and supportive environment that truly feels like a second home. Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and their families.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rate </span></p>\n<p>Our rate is based on Skill Competence Review Check; This Skill Competence check will determine your Level of practice which determines the PDN case/assignment.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to children with technologically dependent medical needs</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Care for individual's in home and community settings</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor and document changes in patient symptoms, behavior, and overall condition</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with the individual’s care team including physicians, caregivers, and family members</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Accompany clients to medical appointments, emergency visits, and community outings as needed</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Offer emotional support, education, and guidance to patients and their families</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in training, skill evaluations, and ongoing professional development</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in the state of Maryland</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience, preferably with technologically dependent populations</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of a Skill Competency Review, which determines your level of practice and case assignments</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficient in use of medical devices and monitoring tools including pulse oximeters, oxygen concentrators, and IV administration equipment</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarity with medical documentation systems and digital tools for charting and communication</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong ability to build rapport with clients, families, and medical professionals</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Solid critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to communicate fluently in English (speaking, reading, and writing)</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to adapt and perform well in a fast-paced and emotionally sensitive environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Qualifications </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience using electronic health records (EHRs) or mobile charting apps</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Comfort with home-based or community healthcare environments</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Flexibility in scheduling and openness to work varied shifts or travel with clients as needed</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Optional Enhancements Based on Your Setting</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in home care, group home, or residential health environments</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and emergency coverage</li>\n</ul>",
