    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>CVP is seeking Registered Nurses to join our team in providing our Nation's Veterans with Medical/Surgical care services at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We have full-time, part-time and PRN contract opportunities available.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Assess the health care needs of patients and develop/maintain a plan of care to meet interdisciplinary goals</li>\n <li>Collect and document pertinent data into the electronic patient medical record using designated templates</li>\n <li>Complete nursing assessments within required time frames, in accordance with policy and procedure</li>\n <li>Perform head-to-toe assessments, insert IV lines, and manage peripheral and central lines</li>\n <li>Administer medications including IV medication using Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) with 100% accuracy</li>\n <li>Coordinate and participate in admission and discharge of patients</li>\n <li>Measure vital signs/hemodynamic monitoring including Pain (the 5th Vital Sign), pulse oximetry</li>\n <li>Perform wound care including dressing changes (sterile and non-sterile), and obtaining wound cultures as necessary</li>\n <li>Perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, and tube feeding management as needed</li>\n <li>Assist with routine urinary and bowel elimination including catheters and colostomy care</li>\n <li>Educate patients/residents and/or families regarding health, diagnoses, and medication administration</li>\n <li>Respond and assist in emergency situations</li>\n <li>Provide clinical oversight to Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and Health Technicians</li>\n <li>Perform and document Braden Scale skin risk assessments and Fall Risk Assessments</li>\n <li>Document Joint Patient Reporting System (JPRS) reports for patient incidents</li>\n <li>Clear all CPRS clinical alerts daily</li>\n <li>Prioritize and complete all tasks within assigned shift</li>\n <li>Update patient care plans and notify physicians of changes in condition</li>\n <li>Practice VA core values: Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence (ICARE)</li>\n <li>Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA requirements</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)</li>\n <li>Current, full, active and unrestricted RN license from a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia</li>\n <li>Minimum of one (1) year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the past five (5) years</li>\n <li>Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)</li>\n <li>Current ACLS certification preferred</li>\n <li>Ability to successfully complete a government background investigation (US Citizenship required)</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of electronic health records and basic computer skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Location</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Battle Creek VA Medical Center, 5500 Armstrong Rd., Battle Creek, Michigan</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About CVP</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>CVP is an award-winning healthcare and next-gen technology and consulting services firm solving critical problems for healthcare, national security, and public sector clients.
