The scope of practice of the Ultrasound Technician includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification(s).</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Maintains awareness of all departmental and operational policies of Altus Community Healthcare (ACH).</li><li>Assists in the maintenance of all equipment in the department, including cleaning and QA procedures.</li><li>Explainsthe ultrasound procedure to patients and answers any questions they may have. Maintains ultrasound equipment and areas in which the procedures take place.</li><li>Performs high-level disinfection on endocavity probes/transducers when necessary and according</li><li>to policy and procedure.</li><li>Performs ultrasounds using technique that ensures the transducer (probe) captures images from</li><li>each angle and areaassessed.</li><li>Evaluates images forquality and ensures that images of theappropriatearea/organ/body part are</li><li>captured.</li><li>Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team.</li><li>Maintain patient records and adds notes related to the ultrasound procedure.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul>",
