You will play a crucial role in enhancing our communities through sustainable and integrated project delivery. As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will contribute to highway design, drainage design, traffic management plans, cost estimating, right-of-way, and layout plans. Our clients range from municipalities to state agencies and private partners, all invested in creating better places for people to live, work, recreate, and learn.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as Project Manager/Senior Engineer for state and local clients.</li>\n <li>Coordinate roadway design with drainage, utilities, structures, traffic, and environmental disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.</li>\n <li>Execute scope associated with project delivery for transportation design projects for all stages from Concept Development to Final Design and Construction Administration phase. </li>\n <li>Prepare and review models, drawings, and specifications documenting the projects under design.</li>\n <li>Manage work and develop and mentor junior staff, providing them with technical and professional guidance.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with other VHB professionals to deliver projects with an integrated thinking approach.</li>\n <li>Monitor project performance.</li>\n <li>Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss transportation design/permitting issues.</li>\n <li>Assist with strategy for expansion of transportation design services in Florida’s Gulf Coast.</li>\n <li>Be part of developing new project opportunities, preparing/managing proposal submissions, and tracking of key client work programs. </li>\n <li>Participate in professional organizations that promote relationships with clients and teaming partners.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Attributes </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Self-motivated, attention to detail and ability to multitask.</li>\n <li>Ability to think critically.</li>\n <li>Exhibits strong leadership skills.</li>\n <li>Strong computer skills (MS Office).</li>\n <li>Strong and collaborative work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment.</li>\n <li>Substantial technical and project management experience.</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of roadway geometric design principles, including horizontal/vertical alignment, superelevation, and corridor development.</li>\n <li>Thorough knowledge with FDOT design standards, FDM, and CADD production requirements.</li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of local and state regulations governing transportation design.</li>\n <li>Experience with OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for roadway design, modeling, and production. AutoCAD or MicroStation experience a plus.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>B.S. in Civil Engineering, transportation planning or similar discipline.</li>\n <li>11+ years of professional transportation engineering experience, with at least 8 years of experience working in the Florida market, required.</li>\n <li>Current FL Professional Engineer (PE) license required.</li>\n <li>Proven success in the transportation agencies and/or state & local government market sectors.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Building what’s next, together.</strong></p>\n<p>Our people make the difference.
