    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>Second Shift</em></strong></p>\n<p><em>Position starts at $15 an hour</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em><strong>Applicants without a resume will be able to skip resume upload option.</strong></em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains Zoo grounds (e.g. picks up litter/manure and cleans tables/benches/ restrooms/walkways).</li>\n <li>Hangs and takes down light strands and shapes, which create special effects for nighttime events (e.g. Wildlights, Zoofari). </li>\n <li>Assists with special maintenance projects (painting, fence repair, bench repair, snow shoveling, general repairs). </li>\n <li>Sets up and takes down tables/chairs/tents for special events and performs administrative office duties.</li>\n <li>Provides support for all special events (e.g. Zoofari/Jazzoo).</li>\n <li>Maintains shop area and equipment (e.g. washing, routine maintenance).</li>\n <li>Assures safety of self, the collection, staff and visitors through proper safety training and techniques around the animals, equipment and vehicles.</li>\n <li>Interacts with guests (e.g. answers questions, gives directions).</li>\n <li>Implements sustainable practices in daily tasks whenever possible.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties assigned.</li>\n <li>Posted schedule may be subject to change based on operational needs such as weather condition, guest attendance and department needs. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be at least 18 years old.</li>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>\n <li>Maintenance experience preferred.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license with good driving record required.</li>\n <li>New-Hire TB testing required.</li>\n <li>Able to climb ladders and work in high and/or enclosed spaces.</li>\n <li>Able to operate motorized equipment.</li>\n <li>Able to perform heavy physical work for extended periods of time.</li>\n <li>Able to balance multiple assignments successfully.</li>\n <li>Able to work in varied weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat, rain). </li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>\n <li>Able to provide excellent guest service by positively interacting with guests and upholding the Make it G.R.E.A.T. standards required.</li>\n <li>Able to maintain courteous and helpful behavior. </li>\n <li>Able to maintain appropriate employee appearance (see uniform guidelines in the employee handbook).</li>\n <li><strong>Availability on weekends and holidays is mandatory.</strong></li>\n <li>Subject to BMV check/Drug Free Workplace Policy/Criminal Background check.</li>\n</ul>",
