We are seeking a dynamic faculty committed to advancing excellence in veterinary education, fostering a culture of </span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">innovation, and promoting a fun, immersive learning environment for academic success among our students. Furthermore, we are creating an inspired academic community dedicated to ensuring our graduates will approach veterinary internal medicine with confidence, curiosity, and capability. At Lyon, you will work in a culture </span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">that values creativity, perseverance, and practical problem solving.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Primary responsibilities include teaching, service, and scholarly activities. Teaching activities are primarily associated with internal medicine principles and clinical application. Service activities vary with individual preferences and program needs.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Scholarly activities may include research, continuing education, and publications relevant to the profession and/or veterinary internal medicine, and innovations in veterinary education and training. Interprofessional research addressing One Health</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">challenges is also encouraged. A typical time assignment is 75% teaching, 20% scholarly activities, and 5% service. Alternative hiring models including part time, non-benefit</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">eligible positions will be considered.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\"> </span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\">Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:</span></p>\n<ul></ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Provide innovative education, mentorship, and guidance to all students in a variety of settings, including the classroom, laboratory, simulation center, and Cabot Animal Support Services in the discipline of veterinary internal medicine.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Play a critical role in promoting the health and welfare of animals within a shelter environment, including high-quality medical care to small animals, support of population management, promotion of public health, and collaboration within the shelter program.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Participate in student assessment, feedback, and remediation to ensure that students meet LCSVM’s high academic standards in the areas of knowledge, skills, and abilities.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Participate in curriculum development, delivery, assessment, and enhancement.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Provide service to Lyon College and the greater community by serving on committees, providing leadership, participating in community outreach events, and working with professional organizations and groups.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Maintain discipline and teaching expertise through continuing professional education.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Engage in scholarly activity, including research, authorship, presentations at conferences, innovation, entrepreneurship, and mentorship of students in their scholarly activities.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Opportunities exist to provide medical services to partners of the veterinary school, such as private practices.</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\">Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the delivery of veterinary/medical education, including an understanding of the principles of andragogy and pedagogy and their application in a professional curriculum.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the area of expertise.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Demonstrated record of advancing innovation and creativity in learning and scholarly pursuits.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Record of successfully contributing to collaborative teams.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented success.</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Required:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● DVM or equivalent degree</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Board Certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, or another relevant ABVS specialty (such as ABVP), or progress towards specialty. certification.</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\">Preferred:</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Master’s degree and/or doctoral degree</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Prior experience teaching within a veterinary or medical school.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Demonstrated leadership experience in educational and/or professional settings.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">● Demonstrated scholarly activities in education, innovations, entrepreneurship, and/or medical research.</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">This position will be based at the new Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine in Cabot, Arkansas. The LCSVM is co-located with Cabot Animal Support Services (CASS). CASS is a local, state, and national model for shelter medicine, animal welfare, community relations, and education.</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">As a private institution, Lyon College offers advantages of nimbleness in encouraging innovations.
