Description Job Title: Student Worker - Advancement Ambassador Job Classification: Business Operations, Student Department: Alumni & Parent Programs Hiring Manager: Allison Haak Contact: [email protected] Work Schedule: 10 Hours/Week, between 5:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Sunday – Thursday 2:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Fridays ONLY Desired Length of Employment: Summer 2026/ Fall 2026/ Spring 2027 Pay Rate: $10/hr Job Description: Through the Baylor University Engagement Center (BUEC), students connect with Baylor alumni, parents, and friends on behalf of the University. Service as a Baylor University Advancement Ambassador (BUAA) ranges from providing a touchpoint to sharing a variety of engagement opportunities. Participants will gain experience in communication, fundraising/sales negotiations and networking that will be useful during and beyond their time at Baylor. The starting pay is $10/hour with opportunities for growth based on performance. We are now hiring ambassadors for a flexible, part-time schedule for the Spring 2026 & Summer 2026 semesters. What We Do: Connect with Baylor alumni, parents and friends via phone call, text or video to check in and inform them about the great things happening at Baylor; Discuss fundraising support for scholarships, research, and campus wide initiatives; Inform the Baylor Family about upcoming events; Thank individuals for their support, whether that be through giving or attending an event; Update contact information of Baylor alumni, parents and friends What Will You Learn?: Relationship Building; Sales; Negotiation; Persuasion; Adaptability; Interpersonal; Communication Skills; Conflict Resolution Minimum Requirements: Have knowledge about Baylor University history, traditions and events Work at least three shifts per week BUEC Shift times are: 5:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Sunday – Thursday 2:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday *day shifts will also be in effect during the Summer Current Baylor undergraduate student (*Graduate students that completed their undergraduate degree at Baylor may also be considered.) * Please provide a valid phone number for our team to contact you. * Skills and abilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Strong and effective interpersonal communications skills; Ability to work under pressure and goal driven; Self-motivated; Ability to develop rapport and positive relationships with a variety of alumni, donors, and potential donors; Provide marketing and communications support to assigned area of responsibility; Assist with various projects, activities or tasks related to marketing and communications; Support marketing and communications strategies and perform duties accordingly; Exhibit a willingness to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively; Ability to comply with University policies; Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
