    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>We are designing the grid of the future!  </strong></p>\n<p>The Grid Modernization Staff Engineer will serve as a technical resource within EPE’s Distribution and Grid Modernization team. This role is focused on working on complex utility projects, conducting advanced analysis associated with locational value of DER and flexible interconnection, and delivering actionable recommendations that help utilities modernize their distribution systems and prepare for a high-DER future. This will also include providing deep expertise in ADMS/DERMS, Distribution Automation, DER integration, and overall grid modernization strategy</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>How you can make an impact:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work on the implementation of grid modernization projects, including Locational Value DER assessment, Flexible interconnection roadmap and implementations, ADMS/DERMS integration, DER orchestration, and standards such as IEEE 1547 – 2018, IEEE 2030.5.</li>\n <li>Support the planning, management, and execution of utility smart grid and DER enablement projects, helping clients integrate technologies such as solar, storage, EVs, demand response, and microgrids into operational frameworks.</li>\n <li>Provide technical support services to utilities on emerging Distribution System Operator (DSO) models, helping clients define their future-state strategies, organizational capabilities, and technology roadmaps.</li>\n <li>Guide the assessment and implementation of advanced applications like FLISR and VVO. Assessing current state and providing potential recommendations and implementation pathways.</li>\n <li>Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.</li>\n <li>Participate in multi-functional teams to obtain input, address comments, and perform studies.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:</strong></p>\n<p>Technical Skills</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 2-3 years of relevant experience.</li>\n <li>Robust technical knowledge of DER integration, interconnection standards, and grid modernization topics, with the ability to evaluate new solutions and drive innovation.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with advanced grid modernization solutions, such as Flexible Interconnection (Flex IX), Locational Value of DER (LVDER), DSO (Distribution System Operator) strategies, DERMS, etc. and the ability to translate these technologies into viable services.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with relevant IEEE standards, like IEEE 1547 – 2018, IEEE2030.5, etc.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with distribution planning and modeling software packages (CYME, Synergi, OpenDSS, or similar) is highly desirable.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with operational control tools like ADMS including configuration and troubleshooting of advanced applications like FLISR and VVO.</li>\n <li>Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation</li>\n <li>Beginner level computer programming skills (Python, SQL, etc.)</li>\n <li>Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation under experience </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Soft Skills</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proven team player with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.</li>\n <li>Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.</li>\n <li>Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to effectively interface with clients, external vendors, cross-functional teams, and internal leadership teams.</li>\n <li>Capable of managing multiple tasks.</li>\n <li>Flexibility and adaptability in the face of new challenges and projects.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Lead the Change!</strong></p>\n<p>Be a part of an innovative team shaping the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence.
