A strong background in Florida or North Carolina DOT design policies and procedures is preferred. The candidate will work in a fast-paced engineering environment where projects may be derived from a number of delivery methods including conventional design-bid-build projects and alternative delivery. Over the last two decades, WGI has delivered a variety of transportation projects including some of the largest and most complex interstate projects in the state of Florida or North Carolina.  As a firm we continue to grow and look forward to the opportunity to add talented engineers who are eager to work on exciting projects and grow professionally themselves.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop engineering designs and plans for various structures including reinforced concrete bridges, prestressed/post-tensioned concrete bridges, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, sign/signal structures, sound barrier walls, and other transportation related structures. </li>\n <li>Assist in the creation of engineering documents including Bridge Development Reports, Bridge Load Rating Calculation, and Design-Build Technical Proposals.</li>\n <li>Participate in and assist with client meetings, marketing pursuits, writing letters of interest, and project presentations.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and other firms on complex interchange projects.</li>\n <li>Review engineering work produced by other engineers to ensure designs, plans and calculations are complete and accurate.</li>\n <li>Assist with business development activities including marketing and proposal preparation, as necessary.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college (Masters preferred)</strong></li>\n <li><strong>Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida or North Carolina or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.</strong></li>\n <li>Proficiency in Structural Engineering Software including Leap Bridge, Conspan, RC-Pier, STAAD, MDX, Midas, FB-MultiPier, MathCAD, and Microstation.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with FDOT/NCDOT plans preparation criteria and design standards.</li>\n <li>Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and work on large multi-discipline engineering teams.</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate technical concepts to others in the engineering profession.</li>\n <li>Possess advanced oral and written communication skills. </li>\n <li>Effectively coordinate, perform, and complete multiple duties and assignments concurrently and in a timely manner. </li>\n <li>Travel to other office locations may be required.</li>\n <li>Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
