The clinical teams at the area’s clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. The UnityPoint Clinic team is known for excellence and quality patient care putting patients at the center of their care to provide the best level of health and well-being.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>This is an ideal role for an Advanced Practice Provider who wants to work closely with a team of Physicians and nurses to manage critically ill patients in the Hospital</li>\n <li>Adult patients only</li>\n <li>Looking to expand program with additional Critical Care providers</li>\n <li>12-hour schedule</li>\n <li>204 bed facility with full range of specialist and subspecialist</li>\n <li>12 bed open ICU with plan to expand to 16 beds closed ICU</li>\n <li>Fully integrated system with clinic and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaboratively manage critically ill patients in the ICU, trained to perform essential procedures such as central lines, intubations, arterial lines, and dialysis catheter insertions</li>\n <li>Actively engage in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the ICU</li>\n <li>Collaborate daily with the intensivists, hospitalists, and other consulting physicians to coordinate care and cleary communicate goals and patient treatment plan with the intensive care unit nurses to facilitate care</li>\n <li>Work within the critical care team and ensure coordination with attending, subspecialists, and nursing team.</li>\n <li>Maintaining a high standard of continuity of care in handoff communication between shifts among providers and physicians</li>\n <li>Average census: 9-10 patients per shift</li>\n <li>Ability to Work as a team member to improve the health of the people and the communities we serve</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Prior ICU and/or Critical Care either as advance practitioner and/or nurse preferred but with completion of the acute care program</li>\n <li>Demonstrate and practice aligned with our FOCUS valuse in accordance with UPH standards</li>\n <li>Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of IA </li>\n <li>Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice</li>\n <li>Eligible to work in the United States</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>We offer</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Attractive incentive package</li>\n <li>A competitive Total Rewards program offers benefits that align with your needs and priorities, no matter what stage of life you are in. </li>\n <li>Generous time off and CME allowance, malpractice insurance, retirement contributions and more </li>\n <li>Dedicated provider resources to positively impact providers work-life balance</li>\n <li>Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, including a free third-party service for loan restructuring and consolidation. </li>\n <li>A commitment to ensuring you have a voice that is heard regardless of role, race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. </li>\n <li>Support and development opportunities that are a crucial part of delivering a remarkable employment experience. </li>\n <li>A culture guided by uncompromising values and unwavering belief in doing what’s right for the people we serve</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Waterloo</strong></p>\n<p>Waterloo and Cedar Falls comprise a metro area of more than 160,000 residents who are proud to call the Cedar Valley home.
