    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>The Patient Care Imaging Assistant is responsible for assisting the Radiologists/Technologist by providing patient care activities including preparation for radiology procedures and preparing images for interpretation by the Radiologist.&nbsp; Practices high quality medical care in performing a variety of patient care activities such as patient preparation, transporting to/from exam rooms, stocking supplies, patient history documentation, and scheduling continued care.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Job Relationships</strong></p>\n\n<p>Reports to the Advanced Imaging Operations Manager</p>\n\n<p><strong>Principal Responsibilities</strong></p>\n\n<ul style=\"list-style-type:disc\">\n\t<li>To maintain optimum patient flow, works closely with technologist to prepare exam rooms and patients for procedure:\n\t<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle\">\n\t\t<li>Prepares scanning rooms for patient exams, including cleaning, disinfects and/or sterilizing coils and equipment, stocking supplies.&nbsp; Maintains departmental logs assuring adherence to DMG Safety/OSHA cleaning standards.</li>\n\t\t<li>Escorts patients to/from scanning rooms and assists in obtaining pertinent information, which may include obtaining weight, height, medical history, medications, reason for visit and patient symptoms.</li>\n\t\t<li>Communicates pending pre-certification information issues with technologists and Radiology management.</li>\n\t\t<li>Collect information from labs and surgery/implant reports</li>\n\t\t<li>Based on need and direction, provides patients with after exam instruction and exam media.</li>\n\t\t<li>Schedule continued care procedures using Radiology Information System.&nbsp; Verify insurance eligibility.&nbsp; As needed, explain patient prep and dispense prep kits and schedule interpreter services.</li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>Under the direction of the Technologist, assists with positioning, lifting of patients, and contrast preparation.</li>\n\t<li>Places EKG leads for certain cardiac related exams.</li>\n\t<li>May assist with setting up coils or phantom handling.</li>\n\t<li>Carries out CPR in patient emergent situations.</li>\n\t<li>Practice safe blood and body fluid management.</li>\n\t<li>Complete order process in Radiology Information System.</li>\n\t<li>Able to function efficiently using PACS, RIS, and IDX (including chart tracking).</li>\n\t<li>Use the Electronic Health Record to gather patient history for technologist.</li>\n\t<li>Provides appointment reminder calls to Radiology patients.</li>\n\t<li>Use of computers and telephone required.</li>\n\t<li>Demonstrate professional behavior with patients and employees.</li>\n\t<li>Maintain positive attitude in working to achieve department goals.</li>\n\t<li>Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.</li>\n\t<li>Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training &amp; accomplishments as required per policy.</li>\n\t<li>Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.</li>\n\t<li>Perform other job duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Education/Experience</strong></p>\n\n<ul style=\"list-style-type:disc\">\n\t<li>High School graduate or GED required.&nbsp; One-year training in medical office; recent ambulatory care experience preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Licenses/Certificates</strong></p>\n\n<p>&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Current CPR per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong></p>\n\n<ul style=\"list-style-type:disc\">\n\t<li>Must maintain professional behavior.</li>\n\t<li>Must be able to adjust to various personalities.</li>\n\t<li>Must have the ability to control emotions and maintain composure under stress, using tact and good judgment.</li>\n\t<li>Must be able to practice safe blood and body fluid management, and transfer patients.</li>\n\t<li>Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.</li>\n\t<li>Must possess manual dexterity to use keyboard and handle equipment appliances.</li>\n\t<li>Must be capable of pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, lifting and twisting.</li>\n\t<li>Must be able to work with arms above head.</li>\n\t<li>Must be able to wear lead apron for long periods of time.</li>\n\t<li>Must be able to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.</li>\n\t<li>Excellent organizational skills.</li>\n\t<li>Computer skills.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Working Environment</strong></p>\n\n<ul style=\"list-style-type:disc\">\n\t<li>Occasional heavy lifting required.</li>\n\t<li>Will be exposed to fumes from cleaning agents or x-ray film processor chemicals, in limited areas.</li>\n\t<li>Will be exposed to conditions including exposure to blood and body fluids, tissue, contagious diseases and/or potentially hazardous materials.</li>\n\t<li>Travel to other sites may be required.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>PHI/Privacy Level</strong></p>\n\n<p>HIPAA1</p>\n",
