The Assistant Coach is also responsible for creating and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the swim team participants.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Principal Activities:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Assist Head Coach in creating thorough, age-appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, drills, etc&hellip;</li><li>Lead structured practices as scheduled be the Head Coach.</li><li>Help to record all work-outs and track daily attendance.</li><li>Assist Head Coach with administrative matters relating to the team, swim meet arrangements and team performance as well as interaction with parents.</li><li>Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations. Record times at swim meets.</li><li>Attend all swim team events such as meets, meetings, social events, etc&hellip; as assigned by Head Coach.</li><li>Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment.</li><li>Cooperate and assist with other YMCA staff to maintain a clean and safe environment for all participants.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Requirements:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Must be at least 20 years of age</li><li>2+ years experience as a competitive swimmer;</li><li>USA Swimming Coach or ASCA Level 1 and Principles of YMCA Competitive Swimming certification preferred. Willingness to obtain within the first year.</li><li>Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills in accordance with YMCA standards and have a strong foundation in stroke mechanics and be able to communicate effectively with swimmers and their parents.</li><li>Certifications: CPR, AED, Basic First Aid and Lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>YMCA Competencies:&nbsp;</p><p><u>Mission and Community Oriented:</u> Accepts and demonstrates YMCA values.
