You will work on complex backend services, cloud-native architectures, and integrations across major cloud providers and SaaS ecosystems.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging problems at scale while contributing directly to the evolution of HYCU’s cloud-native platform and helping shape the future of data protection for modern enterprises.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location: </span>Ljubljana, Slovenia</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Do:</span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices using Java</li>\n<li>Build highly available and resilient distributed systems powering HYCU’s SaaS multi-cloud backup and recovery platform</li>\n<li>Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and Support teams throughout the software development lifecycle</li>\n<li>Write clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-tested code following engineering best practices</li>\n<li>Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions</li>\n<li>Optimize system performance, scalability, reliability, and security</li>\n<li>Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in distributed cloud environments</li>\n<li>Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, observability, and developer tooling</li>\n<li>Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture</li>\n<li>Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud computing, SaaS platforms, and data protection </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We’re Looking For:</span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field</li>\n<li>5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong expertise in Java</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and clean code principles</li>\n<li>Experience building scalable backend systems, APIs, and distributed applications</li>\n<li>Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform</li>\n<li>Experience developing cloud-native or SaaS applications</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous systems</li>\n<li>Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes</li>\n<li>Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases</li>\n<li>Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices</li>\n<li>Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills</li>\n<li>Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments</li>\n<li>Good written and spoken English communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">It’s Great if You Have:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience building backup, storage, security, infrastructure, or data protection products</li>\n<li>Familiarity with distributed messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ</li>\n<li>Experience with observability and monitoring tools</li>\n<li>Experience using and building AI tools and systems</li>\n<li>Knowledge of cybersecurity, ransomware protection, or disaster recovery concepts</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are:</span></p>\n<p>Our Core Values: <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Authenticity</span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Grit</span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Empathy</span> are at the heart of everything we do at HYCU.
