The People Business Partner is an excellent communicator with the ability to ensure effective communication, delineation of duties, training, and professional development for all team members in their district. Responsible for collaborating with cross functional partners in all areas of the business to ensure the success of their team, the People Business Partner should be skilled at communicating across all levels of the organization. As the expert in human capital, the People Business Partner is the main point of contact for all human resource related concerns. The role will require a &ldquo;road dog&rdquo; mentality. Specifically traveling by plane, automobile to multiple locations and states throughout the east coast.&nbsp;</p><p>Our ideal candidate will have a strong human resources background with experience in supporting/leading both non-exempt and exempt team members in a retail organization. Reporting to the Director, People Operations this role will sit in the broader People and Culture business unit.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>While geography is subject to change, this People Business Partner will be assigned to support our Veterinary Retail teams. These locations are located across the nation, and therefore this role will require national travel up to 65%.&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Ideally, the People Business Partner will be based in or around our most densely populated area (Southern California) and travel to other areas of the assigned geography. The office location for this role will be our Irvine, CA Headquarters.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Consults with management, providing HR guidance&nbsp;</li><li>Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies&nbsp;</li><li>Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations&nbsp;</li><li>Resolves employee relations issues and address grievances&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance&nbsp;</li><li>Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)&nbsp;</li><li>Provides coaching and assistance to managers with recruiting, hiring, on-boarding and retaining quality talent while correctly using the HRIS system&nbsp;</li><li>Participates in job fairs and host in-house recruitment events&nbsp;</li><li>Develops and attests to contracts for promotions and transfers&nbsp;</li><li>Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention&nbsp;</li><li>Conducts weekly meetings with managers to provides HR policy guidance and interpretation&nbsp;</li><li>Provides guidance and input on business restructures, workforce planning and succession planning&nbsp;</li><li>Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs&nbsp;</li><li>Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>BS/BA degree required. BS/BA in Human Resources Management/Business Management or related field preferred&nbsp;</li><li>3+ Years Human Resources Experience&nbsp;</li><li>Retail leadership experience preferred&nbsp;</li><li>Familiarity with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) Preferred: ADP WorkforceNow&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to travel 80% o Overnight +/- 30% o Day travel up +/- 50%&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills&nbsp;</li><li>Strong decision-making skills&nbsp;</li><li>Outstanding knowledge of MS Office&nbsp;</li><li>Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs occasionally&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to stand up to 100% of your shift&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Who We Are</strong></p><p>Join us in the movement to ensure longer and healthier lives for dogs and cats.
