Job Title : Street Maintenance   Worker                      FLSA:   Hourly/Non-Exempt Department: Public Infrastructure                            Reports to : Streets General Foreman   Salary Range:  $15.00 -   $18.96 (Depending on experience and qualifications) This job   description should   not   be   interpreted   as   all   inclusive.  It   is   intended   to   identify   the   major   responsibilities  and requirements  of  this  job. The  incumbents  may  be  requested  to  perform job-related  responsibilities  and tasks  other  than those  stated  in this  specification.  Any  essential function  or  requirement  of  this class  will  be  evaluated  as  necessary  should an  incumbent/applicant  be  unable  to  perform  the  function  or  requirement  due to a  disability  as  defined  by the  Americans with Disabilities Act   (ADA). General Purpose : Under  the  general supervision  of the Streets General Foreman  and  performs  a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of city infrastructure.  This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing. Safety sensitive positions must comply to federal regulations where marijuana still remains illegal. Possession of a medical marijuana license does not exempt safety sensitive positions from federal regulations.     "description_text": "Job Title : Street Maintenance   Worker                      FLSA:   Hourly/Non-Exempt\n Department: Public Infrastructure                            Reports to : Streets General Foreman\n   Salary Range:  $15.00 -   $18.96 (Depending on experience and qualifications)\n This job   description should   not   be   interpreted   as   all   inclusive.  It   is   intended   to   identify   the   major   responsibilities  and requirements  of  this  job. The  incumbents  may  be  requested  to  perform job-related  responsibilities  and tasks  other  than those  stated  in this  specification.  Any  essential function  or  requirement  of  this class  will  be  evaluated  as  necessary  should an  incumbent/applicant  be  unable  to  perform  the  function  or  requirement  due to a  disability  as  defined  by the  Americans with Disabilities Act   (ADA).\n General Purpose :\n Under  the  general supervision  of the Streets General Foreman  and  performs  a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of city infrastructure.  This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing. Safety sensitive positions must comply to federal regulations where marijuana still remains illegal. Possession of a medical marijuana license does not exempt safety sensitive positions from federal regulations. Should one of these safety sensitive positions test positive on a drug test and lose the ability to perform   within   the   job   description   outline,   the   City   of   Claremore   will   implement   the   zero   tolerance   policy resulting in immediate   termination.\n ​\n Essential Functions:\n Asphalt patch   repair\n Operate gasoline  powered  hand   tools\n Use  various hand  tools  such as  concrete  rakes,  hammers,  wrenches,  screw drivers,  shovels,   etc.\n Barricade maintenance and  repair.\n Inspects and/or repairs streets, and drainage systems at frequent intervals to insure that all aspects of the systems are functioning properly.\n Determines the locations of gas, telephone, power, television, water and sewer lines from the appropriate sources prior to excavation.\n Insures the proper maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking equipment and tools after use, maintains a variety of records relating to inspections, maintenance activity.\n Drives trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, gravel and sand.\n Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.\n Performs required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including pavement cutting, ditch digging, laying and backfilling, , mowing, weed-eating and removing litter.\n Operates a variety of power construction and maintenance equipment.\n Performs other related duties as assigned.\n Performs manual tasks, such as setting bases and forms to pour concrete.\n Operates concrete saw to cut expansion and contraction joints in concrete; fills “cuts” with tar to allow concrete to breathe.\n Finishes surfaces of freshly poured concrete streets, walkways and curbs to specified grade and contour, using hand tools, such as floats, trowels and screeds.\n All other duties as assigned.",
