Since GreenSky's inception, nearly 6 million consumers have financed more than $50 billion of commerce using GreenSky’s real time “apply and buy” technology. </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Position:</strong> Director of Business Intelligence</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Location: </strong><strong>Hybrid/Sandy Springs, GA (3 days in the office/2 days remote)</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Overview:</strong></p>\n<p>GreenSky is seeking a Director of Business Intelligence to lead the transformation of our Enterprise Data platform into a world-class analytical powerhouse. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, AI enablement, and business strategy.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in modern data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and AI/ML tooling with the leadership skills to develop a team of Data and Test Engineers and align data strategy to business outcomes. You will inherit a complex Snowflake-based platform and lead the work of rationalizing, optimizing, and elevating it.</p>\n<h2>Duties & Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Platform Assessment & Optimization</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct a comprehensive audit of the existing data warehouse: data quality, duplication, schema design, and query performance</li>\n <li>Establish data modeling best practices appropriate to GreenSky's workloads</li>\n <li>Define and enforce Snowflake performance optimization standards: clustering keys, materialized views, warehouse sizing, and cost governance</li>\n <li>Rationalize and modernize Qlik Talend ETL jobs - prioritizing maintainability, observability, and resilience</li>\n <li>Establish modern software engineering practices across the team - version control, peer code review, CI/CD, and automated testing for all data pipeline and schema changes</li>\n <li>Improve Fivetran HVR sync reliability and introduce proper CDC monitoring and alerting</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Data Strategy & Roadmap</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Define a structured 3-month, 6-month, and 2-year data platform roadmap with clear milestones, owners, and success metrics</li>\n <li>Lead the migration path from reactive, fragmented reporting toward a governed, self-service analytics model</li>\n <li>Evaluate and recommend modern data stack enhancements (e.g., dbt for transformation, Airflow/Prefect for orchestration, Great Expectations for data quality)</li>\n <li>Develop a strategic AI/ML enablement plan leveraging Snowflake Cortex and third-party LLM integrations to power predictive analytics and business intelligence</li>\n <li>Drive adoption of a Semantic Layer / Metrics Layer to create a single source of truth for business KPIs</li>\n <li>Review and enhance the data governance framework including ownership, lineage, classification, and access controls</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Skills/Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>8+ years of progressive experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or Data Platform roles</li>\n <li>3+ years in a leadership or management capacity overseeing data engineering teams</li>\n <li>Deep hands-on expertise with Snowflake: architecture, performance optimization, cost management, and security</li>\n <li>Strong background with ETL/ELT tooling - Qlik Talend, Fivetran, or equivalent enterprise platforms</li>\n <li>Proven track record of modernizing legacy data platforms in production environments</li>\n <li>Experience designing and enforcing data governance, quality, and observability frameworks</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to translate technical complexity into business-aligned roadmaps and executive-level communication</li>\n <li>Proficiency in SQL at an advanced level; familiarity with Python for data automation</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with MS SQL Server and CDC patterns</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with Git, code repositories, and deployment automation (CI/CD) for data warehouse and database change management</li>\n <li>Exposure to AI/ML integration patterns on data platforms - Snowflake Cortex, LLM APIs, or MLflow</li>\n <li>Experience with data observability platforms (Monte Carlo, Datafold, Great Expectations)</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Lakehouse, or Medallion architecture patterns</li>\n <li>Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster</li>\n <li>Familiarity with financial services, fintech, or lending domain data</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this role ranges from $150,000 per year to $200,000 per year. Compensation will be determined by several factors, including relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus within a comprehensive total rewards package, alongside a full suite of medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, life insurance, 401k retirement benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid personal/sick time.
