Attracting the right talent has helped us with the quality of our projects, and we have been able to build our reputation for providing award-winning designs.<br><br></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About the Role</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are seeking a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Senior Electrical Engineer</span> to join our Vancouver office. This role offers exposure to the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility and planning to detailed design, construction, and commissioning. As a senior member of the team, you will lead the electrical design efforts on commercial and institutional building projects while supervising and mentoring junior engineers and designers.</p>\n<p> <br><br></p>\n<p>The responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers, guiding them in the preparation of electrical drawings, specifications, and reports.</li>\n<li>Design Compliance: Ensure electrical designs conform to all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.</li>\n<li>Design Development: Lead the implementation of design concepts, including the preparation and development of production drawings, ensuring quality assurance and quality checks are met.</li>\n<li>Electrical Distribution Design: Provide strong expertise in both medium and low-voltage electrical distribution systems and the design of lighting, fire alarms, and mechanical equipment connections.</li>\n<li>Utilities &amp; Service Requirements: Understand and apply utility requirements, standards for service upgrades, new service requests, and variance requests.</li>\n<li>Reporting: Prepare and develop various reports, including building assessments, schematic reports, and design development documents.</li>\n<li>Project Support: Provide technical and administrative support throughout all project phases, from concept to occupancy.</li>\n<li>Collaboration: Work closely with prime consultants, sub-consultants, facility management teams, and developers, ensuring smooth project execution.</li>\n<li>Construction Administration: Oversee construction administration duties, including reviewing shop drawings, contractor quotations, change orders (SI, CCN), and progress claims.</li>\n<li>Site Coordination: Attend site meetings, perform site reviews, and generate detailed reports.</li>\n<li>Project Management: Manage tight schedules, and limited resources, and motivate staff to ensure optimal performance and project delivery.</li>\n<li>Financial: Manage project budgets and scope of work to ensure financial success of a project by staying within budget and requesting additional fees where warranted.</li>\n<li>Work with senior leaders to pursue new work and issue proposals.</li>\n<li>Teamwork &amp; Problem-Solving: Foster a collaborative team environment, leveraging strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.</li>\n<li>Organization &amp; Prioritization: Effectively manage project tasks, set priorities, and ensure all deliverables are met on time.<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Minimum Requirements:</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience: 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering design within the building construction industry, with at least five years in a project management or senior engineering role.</li>\n<li>Education: Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.</li>\n<li>Technical Skills: Strong background in medium and low voltage electrical systems design, as well as lighting, fire alarm, and mechanical system connections.</li>\n<li>Software Skills: Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.  Familiarity with short-circuit and fault study software is a plus.</li>\n<li>Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to clients, contractors, and team members.</li>\n<li>Team Leadership: Proven experience managing teams, mentoring junior staff, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:<br><br></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professional Registration: Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia.</li>\n<li>Industry Expertise: Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering building consulting, with expertise in various sectors such as residential, commercial, mixed-use, healthcare, institutional, and light industrial projects.</li>\n<li>Project Experience: Familiarity with new development and tenant improvement projects.</li>\n<li>Code Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, fire alarm standards, ASHRAE, and local municipal bylaws.</li>\n<li>Additional Experience: Experience in transportation projects is an asset.</li>\n<li>Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).</li>\n<li>Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Compensation: $100,000 to $120,000 (depending on experience).</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Why Join AES Engineering?</span><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>RRSP matching.</li>\n<li>Extended medical and dental benefits.</li>\n<li>Health wellness spending account.</li>\n<li>Opportunity for career development and professional growth.</li>\n<li>A collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and teamwork.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">How to Apply</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Please submit your resume if you are interested in this role, and for more information, please visit our company website <a href=\"http://www.aesengr.com/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.aesengr.com</a>.
