Work is done primarily in the field. Position requires extensive travel within the local territory. May train or assist other employees as required.</p>\n<p><strong>Job Model:  </strong>On Site</p>\n<p>On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>A typical day at work would include:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Consistent, regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>FIELD SERVICE AREA: Responsibilities Include:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Mechanical Seal installations</li>\n <li>Field service valve work</li>\n <li>Field service pump repair and installation</li>\n <li>New pump assembly and installation</li>\n <li>Laser alignment and vibration analysis</li>\n <li>Machining of seals and pumps</li>\n <li>Field service ARC applications</li>\n <li>Maintaining Customer Equipment Surveys</li>\n <li>May, at times, support Chesterton Corporate programs, such as Fixed Fee contracts, PROP reliability programs, etc.</li>\n <li>May train other employees on all field service work. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>CUSTOMER ON SITE SUPPORT: Responsibilities include:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supports customer requirements for system maintenance and operation.</li>\n <li>Picks-up parts and repairs or modifies in retail shop.</li>\n <li>May conduct on site training and or installation of products.</li>\n <li>Serves as technician in troubleshooting customer seal and pump operation.</li>\n <li>Supports Direct Sales personnel in customer accounts on manual work requirements.</li>\n <li>Provides ancillary services.</li>\n <li>Provides vibration analysis, laser alignment services.</li>\n <li>Works on system design recommendations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience you need coming into this job:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Trade School and/or Technical Associates Degree preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>2-4 years experience within any combination of the following areas:</li>\n <li>Technical industrial experience</li>\n <li>Mechanical Seal/Pump assembly and/or product knowledge</li>\n <li>Mechanical ability and light machining experience</li>\n <li>Industrial process experience</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Work directly and efficiently with customer service staff, direct sales force, distributors and end users.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Works independently, instructions only given on the most complex tasks. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Works on moderately complex issues. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must possess a high degree of organizational skill and attention to detail.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Required to concentrate on quality control standards for mechanical seals and pumps.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Required to perform specialized technical operations in repair and light machining of mechanical seals and pumps components as well as assembly and disassembly.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>May train other product technician personnel.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Organization skills and attention to detail</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Communication and customer service skills</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>High degree of math, measuring and calibration ability</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast paced environment</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to lift light to moderate weights</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to operate a forklift, hoist, hand truck, and basic industrial machines and tools</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Basic computer and phone skills required</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Able to write and administrate documents</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work predominantly in the field</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Valid driver’s license required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
