Our goals quickly broadened from the mere provision of food and shelter and simple survival, to understanding and working toward overcoming the problems which cause people to become homeless.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Columbus House, along with its core of loyal supporters, friends, and volunteers, has remained committed to fulfilling its mission: &quot;To serve people experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk by providing life-saving outreach, shelter and housing and by fostering their personal growth and independence. We advocate for and create affordable housing to end homelessness in our communities.&quot;<strong>&nbsp;</strong><br>&nbsp;<br><strong>Purpose</strong><br>With guidance from the Director of Veteran Services &amp; Middlesex Emergency Services, the Manager of Middlesex Emergency Services provides direct supervision and program management, training and professional development to all Residential Staff at the Wallingford Seasonal Shelter, Family Shelters, Outreach, SOAR and PSH staff.<br>&nbsp;<br><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Hire, train, and supervise all residential program staff, providing all necessary oversight and supervision and ensuring consistency and continuity of services rendered</li><li>Coordinate with the Middlesex, Meriden, and Wallingford Coordinated Access Network to accept new eligible clients</li><li>Create and update the outreach plan for the MMW region</li><li>Complete regular house meetings within all Residential Programs</li><li>Complete all required reports and documentation</li><li>Collaborate with other service agencies and work with other Columbus House internal services as appropriate</li><li>Network and collaborate with the Middlesex, Meriden, and Wallingford CAN for all new Emergency Shelter admissions and discharges maintaining strict confidentiality concerning both program applicants and accepted clients at all times</li><li>Attend regularly scheduled supervision, team, shelter or staff meetings as requested</li><li>Other related duties as assigned</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree with a minimum of two years&rsquo; experience in an administrative or management role&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Three or more years of direct care experience&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, teach, multitask and supervise&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">A complete knowledge base of all aspects of the delivery of residential services for the homeless population&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to work with diverse populations independently or in groups&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">General understanding of crisis intervention, confidentiality, boundaries, universal precautions&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Able to foster a Harm Reduction philosophy within the work environment; strong empathic skills&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to work with improvement teams and foster teamwork&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Excellent organizational and time management skills&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong computer skills&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong written and oral communication skills&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Valid drivers&rsquo; license with a good driving history and daily access to an automobile&nbsp;</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br><strong>Supervised by</strong>: Director of Veteran Services and Middlesex Emergency Services<br><strong>Schedule</strong>:40 hours per week; Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm<br><strong>Salary range:</strong>&nbsp;$58,656- $60,000<br>&nbsp;<br><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Medical, dental, and vision benefits are offered along with other additional voluntary coverages with full-time employment</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">401 K retirement plan with employer matching contribution</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Paid time off&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">10 paid holidays</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br>Please send your resume and a cover letter to Human Resources Generalist, Columbus House Inc., 586 Ella Grasso Boulevard P.O.
