When your interview is being scheduled, please advise the Recruiter of how we might be able to support your participation.  </em></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>** NOTE:  </strong>Reference checks <u>will be</u> conducted for potential candidates and the information collected will be used in making the final hiring decision</p>\n<h2>Primary Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Finance, the Senior Corporate Accountant will lead the establishment of best-in-class period-end close (PEC) processes. This includes timely consolidation and preparation of periodic (monthly, quarterly, and annual) financial statements required for both internal and external stakeholders. Together with the Senior Manager, Finance, this role will demonstrate leadership in instituting internal controls and be responsible for the collection and analyses of financial data, ensuring that all reporting is in compliance with accounting guidelines.  The incumbent communicates with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures, and issues. This individual also assists in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The role will work closely with FP&A and the Accounting Operations & Process Transformation Teams, as well as external consultants as/when needed.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As with all positions at Tree of Life Canada we expect that all actions will be consistent with Tree of Life Canada’s Mission, Vision, and Values.</p>\n<h2>Essential Functions</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food).</li>\n <li>With oversight from the Senior Manager, Finance, establish best-in-class PEC (period-end close) processes.</li>\n <li>Prepare consolidated financial statements for TOLC and its subsidiaries.</li>\n <li>Work with the Finance team on financial reports and presentations to KeHE.</li>\n <li>Lead the compilation and review of supporting schedules, content and notes for both internal and external financial reports.</li>\n <li>Serve as a technical accounting resource across the organization, including maintaining the Finance Policies and Procedures Manual.</li>\n <li>Monitor developments in accounting standards to assess potential impacts to the business and implementation of new or revised standards.</li>\n <li>Work with FP&A and Costing Team in the completion of inventory and cost of sales financial reporting.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with third-party advisors on income tax matters and regulatory filings.</li>\n <li>Own statutory filings, including HST, property tax and other applicable returns.</li>\n <li>Own fixed asset accounting and reporting.</li>\n <li>Liaise with external auditors to support the quarterly review and annual audit process.</li>\n <li>Liaise with legal department on external reporting regulations and guidelines to assess potential impacts on external reporting.</li>\n <li>Execute KPI, competitor reporting, analytics, ad-hoc reports and proactively identify value-add business insights and present to management.</li>\n <li>Support teams in identifying, verifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvement and process re-engineering opportunities,.</li>\n <li>Identify and reduce all business and financial risks through effective implementation and monitoring of controls.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<h2>Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Post-secondary business degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field</li>\n <li>Professional accounting designation (CPA) required. </li>\n <li>Minimum of three (3) years progressive experience in finance</li>\n <li>Solid technical accounting knowledge and the ability to interpret complex technical accounting issues and implement practical solutions.</li>\n <li>Previous experience working with IFRS / US GAAP is preferred.</li>\n <li>Experience with SAP S/4HANA is considered an asset.</li>\n <li>Experience with legacy systems (eg. AS400) is an asset.</li>\n <li>Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, in an ambiguous and developing structure.</li>\n <li>Self-starter, well-organized with excellent attention to detail and a continuous process improvement mindset.</li>\n <li>Proficient in financial modelling in Microsoft Excel.</li>\n <li>Ability to comfortably interact with senior management in a professional manner.</li>\n <li>Track record of meeting tight working deadlines, and prioritizing workload are essential.</li>\n <li>Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools (eg. Power BI) is considered an asset but is not required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The base compensation range for this role is $68,000 CAD - $102,000 CAD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. </p>",
