    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><link href=\"https://static.workforcenow.adp.com/mas/mdf-components/23.37.26/styles/froala_editor.pkgd.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\">&nbsp;<link href=\"https://static.workforcenow.adp.com/mas/mdf-components/23.37.26/styles/froala_style.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"><div class=\"fr-view\"><p>On call (PRN) position available to fill in as needed.</p><p>Performs all diagnostic/screening examinations Mammography, Bone Density, and other diagnostic radiographic procedures as directed by the Radiologist, Manager of Radiology, or the Senior Supervising Technologist. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient at &ldquo;number one (1)&rdquo; and put forth utmost quality as a Staff Technologist.</p><p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li id=\"isPasted\">Aids in scheduling Bone Density and Mammography examinations and other mammography procedures if necessary.</li><li>Responsible for performing all Mammography, Bone Density, and other mammography procedures.</li><li>Assists in transporting patients when necessary.</li><li>Responsible for all Mammography, Bone Density Exams along with Mammography Supervisor.</li><li>Responsible for calling service for maintenance of Mammography, Bone Density, and other equipment as necessary.</li><li>Responsible for the cleanliness of Mammography, Bone Density and other assigned x-ray equipment.</li><li>Places patient at ease and explains to him/her what will be occurring and then performs initial evaluation of patient. Establishes patient I.D. and history with patient records. Builds rapport with patient so that he/she can feel staff concern. Should obtain accurate patient history while attempting to relieve patient anxiety.</li><li>Demonstrates respect for patient modesty. Insures that patients are properly dressed. Explains to patients that all metal snaps and jewelry are to removed for a quality exam to be performed. Sees that patients are properly clothed and covered for exam.</li><li>Positions each patient in a manner which prevents unnecessary pain and discomfort. Each patient should be comfortable with their dignity preserved. Should be mindful of the patient&rsquo;s condition and attitude.</li><li>Ensures the quality of patient imaging by making the proper technical settings on the radiographic equipment used. Should always provide the Radiologist with quality diagnostic information, placing name, date, ordering physician, time, markers, and technologist&rsquo;s initials on film, along with &ldquo;Opelousas General Health System, Opelousas, Louisiana&rdquo;.</li><li>Observes all radiology and radiation safety procedures benefiting both the patient and the technologist. Informs each patient that safety procedures have been established to protect him / her. Observes all Radiology safety policy and procedures.</li><li>Completes allow work tasks with great consideration for time and quality of patient care. Should set personal goals to achieve maximum productivity with the utmost quality in patient care.</li><li>Assists others in their work tasks if needed. Volunteers assistance in other areas of the Department if needed and makes the Department more productive while improving the quality of care given.</li><li>Shows care in maintaining equipment that she / we works with so that quality examinations can be reproduced on an consistent basis. Reports any malfunctions to the Manager of Radiology, or the Senior Supervising Technologist, while removing this equipment from use, if necessary.</li><li>Assists in keeping entire Department clean, not seeing this as someone else&rsquo;s duty exclusively. Assists all staff members in keeping Department clean and observes all infection control policies and procedures.</li><li>Exercises care in preparing set-up procedure trays and materials used in examinations. Used techniques and materials as approved by the Medical Director.</li><li>Ensures that all employee / patient related incidents are reported to the Manager of Radiology or the Senior Supervising Technologist and submit into occurrence report.</li><li>Ensures the reporting of potential safety hazards to assure patient and employee safety.</li><li>Ensures the reporting of all allergic reactions to the Radiologist on duty immediately. Insures that all patient IV problems are reported to the patient&rsquo;s charge nurse / radiology nurse / nursing supervisor.</li><li>Able to perform and carry out other reasonable requests or duties which may be assigned from time to time.</li><li>Supervise and evaluate LSU-E students.</li><li>Pursues appropriate continuing education and obtains required education credits as mandated by credentialing organizations and OGHS to include CPR Certification.</li><li>Actively participates in the collection of data when needed.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining knowledge of and observing universal precautions within the standards practice of care.</li><li>The incumbent of this position is required to demonstrate competencies in all age groups.</li><li>Familiar with, utilizes, follows and refers to the Policy and Procedure Manual and Procedure Protocol of all modalities, as well as following the OGHS Employee Handbook of Personnel Policies.</li><li>The above statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements which may be inherent in the position.</li></ul><p><strong>Education:</strong> Certificate in Radiology Technology required.</p><p><strong>Certification/License</strong>: LSRT required, ARRT required, ARRT-M preferred, CPR required.</p><p><strong>Additional experience preferred:</strong></p><ul><li id=\"isPasted\">Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology.</li><li>Participated in seminars relevant to Mammography, X-Ray, Bone Density, and other Radiological Procedures.</li><li>Must possess a current license by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist and the State of Louisiana.</li><li>Membership in a professional organization is encouraged.</li><li>Possess good physical health.</li><li>Must possess good motor coordination and manual dexterity.</li><li>Must be CPR Certified.</li><li>Subject to electrical and radiation energy hazards.</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
