We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team. The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education &amp; computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for &ldquo;at-risk&rdquo; youth.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">We are currently seeking a FT Food Service Coordinator at the Broward Outreach Centers in Hollywood, FL,</p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><u>JOB SUMMARY</u></strong></p><p>The <strong>Food Service Coordinator (FSC)&nbsp;</strong>reports to the <strong>Kitchen Supervisor (KS)</strong> and will assist with daily operations of the food service department across all campuses of The Caring Place (TCP). The FSC plays a key role in coordinating food service logistics, managing inventory, supporting staff and volunteers, and cultivating vendor relationships particularly in securing and managing Gift- In-Kind both incoming and outgoing. The FSC is responsible for food preparation, storage, handling and serving in an institutional type setting.</p><p><strong><u>CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Develop, build, and maintain relationships with vendors, donors, and community partners to secure incoming Gift-In-Kind (GIK) donations&nbsp;</li><li>Coordinate, assist, and schedule pickup and delivery of purchased goods, supplies and donated items&nbsp;</li><li>Track, process, and document all incoming GIK donations in accordance with organizational procedures&nbsp;</li><li>Build and maintain an organized, up-to-date inventory list for outgoing GIK distributions</li><li>Collaborate with internal departments to identify needs and align outgoing GIK resources accordingly</li><li>Responsible for processing all GIK ( Gift-in-kind) donations and overseeing volunteer engagement in conjunction with the Community Development Department</li><li>Communicate professionally and compassionately with staff, clients, vendors, and volunteers</li><li>Prepares nutritious meals for residents in our Centers</li><li>Ensures that daily inventory levels are maintained, and notifies supervisors when inventory is low</li><li>Ensures that cooler and freezer are stocked in an orderly manner to facilitate &ldquo;first in, first out&rdquo; system</li><li>Practices proper food handling procedures</li><li>Keeps supervisor informed of any and all incidents in a timely manner</li><li>Takes pride in work performed and serves clients in a respectful and pleasant manner</li><li>Abides by The Caring Place (TCP) guidelines, policies and procedures</li><li>Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events&nbsp;</li><li>Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned</li></ul><p><strong><u>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Requires a High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year of experience preparing meals in an industrial kitchen</li><li>Must have a valid State of Florida Food Handler&rsquo;s Permit</li><li>Must be knowledgeable of OSHA and local health department codes to ensure compliance</li><li>Must have good interpersonal skills in order to communicate with all levels of staff, residents, and volunteers, and to deal with complex personalities of recovering adults&nbsp;</li><li>Must be of good moral character, with knowledge of homelessness and addiction issues, and the ability to lead clients by example</li><li>Must have the ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency</li><li>Must be computer literate have experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)</li><li>Must know basic math to calculate recipes for large groups</li><li>Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license</li></ul><p><strong><u>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Will work in the kitchen, dining room, food warehouse, and outside areas that may be climate-controlled, hot, steamy, cold, damp, wet, slippery, freezing, humid, noisy, dirty, dusty, or greasy.</li><li>May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and machinery, hot and cold equipment and water</li><li>Must be able to sit for extended periods, and have the ability to lift and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds</li><li>Must be able to taste, touch, see, hear and speak, read and write fluently in English to perform essential job duties and interact with staff, residents, and the general public</li><li>Must be able to move around as needed to perform essential job duties</li></ul><p><strong><u>PERKS AND BENEFITS</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Day off for Birthday/Work Anniversary</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Employee Discounts</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Holidays (12)</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Paid Time Off</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, GAP and Health Savings Account)</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Company Paid Life insurance</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">403b Retirement Plan with 3% match</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Only qualified candidates will be considered.
