We offer great benefits and competitive wages. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>PURPOSE</p>\n<p>We are seeking a career-minded individual to teach Spanish, starting in August of 2026.  The ideal candidate will be a certified teacher with a demonstrated ability to teach in a college preparatory environment.  The teacher will work in a structured and collaborative environment with other teachers who are committed to the formation of each student according to the principles of the Grad at Grad:  Open to Growth, Intellectually Competent, Religious, Committed to Doing Justice, and Loving.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Plan and teach five sections of Spanish, likely with two preps, which may include advanced placement and dual credit ocurses, pending certification. </li>\n <li>Collaborate with department and school colleagues in the ongoing curriculum design and review process. </li>\n <li>Communicate regularyly with students, parents, school counselors, and administrators about student progress. </li>\n <li>Participate actively in the school's co-curricular and spiritual activities</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>REQUIREMENTS</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field (Master’s preferred)</li>\n <li>Previous Spanish teaching experience.</li>\n <li>Experience with teaching for language acquisition and proficiency or desire to join the shared department goal of teaching for proficiency.</li>\n <li>Clear understanding of and commitment to Rockhurst High School's mission,</li>\n <li>Student-focused approach to learning, which includes a desire to build positive relationships that are characterized by mutual respect and trust.</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of current educational theory and practice.</li>\n <li>Ability to incorporate a range of instructional approaches, including discussion-based, project-based, and inquiry-based approaches.</li>\n <li>Experience with a range of educational technologies.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to stand, sit, and move around the classroom and building. </li>\n <li>Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally</li>\n <li>Sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to use computers, phones, and office equipment and to participate in meetings and student interactions, </li>\n <li>Ability to communicate clearly in person, in writing, and in group presentations. </li>\n <li>Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for school events, student or parents programs. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>HOW TO APPLY:</p>\n<p>Please send resume to Mike Wickenhuaser, Assistant Principal for Academics, at [email protected]</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> rockhursths.edu</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Rockhurst High School is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p>",
