Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician III Reports to: Operations Manager Location: Wausau, WI Shift/Hours: 1st Shift 5:00am-1:30pm About the Role : The Maintenance Technician III ensures that all machinery and equipment run efficiently and effectively. Develops and executes preventive maintenance programs, identifies spare parts needs and repairs machinery, equipment, tools, and facilities. Subcontracts services related to repairs and maintenance. Works independently under limited supervision. Responsible for assisting and training lower-level support employees. May be responsible for entire projects or processes within area. Responsibilities: Communicates with contacts within and outside the department on matters of moderate importance. Explains practices, procedures and policies in order to reach agreement. Addresses complex and often ambiguous problems that require an understanding of a broad range of issues across multiple areas or specialties. Applies analytical thinking and prior experience to evaluate challenges and develop effective solutions. Responsible for driving moderate to significant improvements to processes, systems, or products to enhance overall performance and efficiency. Test, diagnose malfunctions then follow through with the repair on production and facility related equipment Partner with OEM or contractor technical support as required Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment plant wide Participate and lead by example in establishing safety policies, standards, practices, and procedures Ensure all documentation is filled out and accurate to aid in tracking repairs, equipment histories, and part inventory Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization Repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, parts manuals and manufacturing specifications, using hand tools, power tools and test equipment Requirements: HS diploma and 4+ years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment. Associates degree in Electro-Mechanical or Industrial Maintenance preferred. Experience in repairing / troubleshooting metal fabrication equipment. Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity. Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building. Interpersonal skills to interact with employees of the building in a pleasant manner. Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage problems. Work Environment: Work is performed indoors or outdoors. This site may not be temperature controlled. Are exposed to hazardous equipment on a weekly basis. May be exposed to contaminant. Wear safety attire and protective gear when going to the plant floor. Sit, Talk, or hear, and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls. Regularly stand and walk. On occasion may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. Occasionally lift up to 50 lb. Close vison, distance vision, color vison, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels when on the plant floor. The physical and work environment demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
