This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership presence, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to </span><span>operate</span><span> effectively in fast-paced and evolving environments.</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Key Responsibilities</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span> Develop and lead grassroots organizing and community mobilization strategies aligned with UJA’s advocacy, activism, and engagement priorities.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Build, grow, and sustain networks of volunteers, organizers, activists, ambassadors, influencers, and community leaders across the Greater Toronto Jewish community.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Lead large-scale community activation efforts related to advocacy campaigns, civic engagement initiatives, public affairs efforts, crisis response activities, and community priorities.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Recruit, train, mentor, and support volunteer organizers and emerging leaders capable of mobilizing and engaging their own networks.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Develop and implement engagement frameworks, organizing infrastructure</span><span>, leadership pipelines, and volunteer mobilization strategies to strengthen long-term community capacity.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span><span> Build strategic partnerships and collaborative relationships with schools, campuses, synagogues, community organizations, advocacy groups, and external stakeholders.</span></span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span> Support and guide the execution of trainings</span><span>, rallies, engagement initiatives, public actions, educational opportunities, and grassroots campaigns.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Track engagement metrics, campaign outcomes, volunteer participation, and mobilization effectiveness to inform strategy and decision-making.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, community partners, volunteers, and leadership stakeholders to advance organizational priorities and engagement objectives</span><span>.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Serve as a visible leader and representative of UJA within community mobilization, activism, and engagement initiatives.</span></span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Qualifications &amp; Experience</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span> Postsecondary education in Political Science, Public Affairs, Communications, Community Development, Nonprofit Management, Jewish Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field is preferred.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in grassroots organizing</span><span>, </span><span>political campaigns, advocacy, activism, public affairs, civic engagement, community relations, or related fields.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span><span>Demonstrated experience leading large-scale mobilization, organizing, advocacy, or community activation initiatives.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(72, 65, 63); font-size: 12pt\">Passionate advocate and visible champion of UJA’s mission, values, and goals, inspiring others through action and unwavering commitment to advancing our shared purpose</span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Proven success in recruiting, training, coaching, mentoring, and leading volunteers, organizers, activists, campaign teams, ambassadors, or community leaders.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Strong understanding of organizing methodologies, volunteer engagement strategies, grassroots activism, and movement-building principles.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Experience developing long-term engagement strategies and scalable community organizing frameworks.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Strong leadership presence with exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to motivate, influence, and inspire action among diverse audiences.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Experience working with community organizations, Hillel, campus leadership, advocacy organizations, public affairs initiatives, or Jewish communal institutions is considered a strong asset.</span></span><br></li>\n<li><span><span> Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead through ambiguity, and operate effectively</span><span> within a fast-paced, high-profile environment.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span><span>Proficiency with CRM systems, engagement databases, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite is considered an asset.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">*This is a full-time permanent position, Union Level 6.<span> </span></span>Salary Range: $81,000–$91,000 annually, based on experience. <br>At UJA we support a flexible work schedule and all of our employees engage in hybrid work.
