This role involves continuous monitoring of assigned patients to ensure their safety, prevent harm, and provide support in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.</p>\n<h3><strong>Mandatory Vaccination Requirements</strong></h3>\n<p>Candidates must sign an attestation confirming vaccination status for the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Tuberculosis (Mantoux test)</li>\n <li>Measles (proof of vaccination or serology)</li>\n <li>Mumps (proof of vaccination or serology)</li>\n <li>Rubella (proof of vaccination or serology)</li>\n <li>Varicella/Chickenpox (proof of vaccination or serology)</li>\n <li>COVID-19 vaccination (minimum of one dose required)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Recommended (not mandatory):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Hepatitis B</li>\n <li>Influenza (Flu) vaccination</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide continuous observation of assigned patient(s) as directed by hospital staff</li>\n <li>Ensure patient safety by preventing self-harm, elopement, or disruptive behavior</li>\n <li>Maintain a calm, professional, and attentive presence at all times</li>\n <li>Accurately document observations and incidents in a timely manner</li>\n <li>Communicate effectively with nursing staff and supervisors regarding any changes in patient condition or behavior</li>\n <li>Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations</li>\n <li>Adhere to all hospital protocols, confidentiality standards, and security procedures</li>\n <li>Support de-escalation efforts using approved techniques</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Qualifications and Requirements</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Valid Security Guard License (Ontario)</li>\n <li>Current First Aid and CPR certification</li>\n <li>Successful candidates must speak English & French.</li>\n <li>Vulnerable Sector Check required</li>\n <li>Access to a personal vehicle</li>\n <li>Previous healthcare or patient watch experience is considered an asset</li>\n <li>Strong observational and communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods</li>\n <li>Professional demeanor with strong conflict-resolution abilities</li>\n <li>Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Benefits</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Opportunities for career growth and advancement</li>\n <li>Comprehensive health and dental benefits</li>\n <li>Paid training and professional development programs</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Disclaimer</strong></h3>\n<p>As part of the standard hiring process, candidates selected for consideration will be required to undergo a background check.
