    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>First-time parents located on the Upper West Side are seeking an experienced and compassionate newborn care specialist to provide overnight support as they welcome their first child, expected on or around July 15. This is a temporary contract position for an initial term of 8 weeks, with the possibility of extending for an additional month should the arrangement prove to be a strong mutual fit.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The schedule will consist of 6 nights per week, 12 hours per night. The family is looking for a calm, knowledgeable professional who can confidently guide them through the newborn stage while helping establish healthy routines and providing reassurance during this exciting transition into parenthood.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Candidates should ideally be able to start 1-2 weeks earlier, in the event that baby arrives early.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The Newborn Care Specialist will play a key role in supporting both the baby and parents during the early postpartum period. Responsibilities include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensuring the baby’s safety, comfort, and overall well-being at all times</li>\n <li>Establishing and implementing healthy sleep habits and age-appropriate overnight routines that parents can confidently continue after the contract concludes</li>\n <li>Providing thoughtful guidance and practical strategies to help maintain consistent daytime and nighttime schedules, setting the baby up for long-term sleep success</li>\n <li>Assisting with overnight feedings and newborn care, including diapering, soothing, burping, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene</li>\n <li>Supporting the mother’s breastfeeding goals by assisting with feedings and helping create a smooth overnight routine</li>\n <li>Offering general newborn-related support and education to first-time parents, helping them build confidence and familiarity with infant care</li>\n <li>Maintaining clear communication with the family regarding the baby’s sleep, feeding, and overall overnight progress</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>The ideal candidate will be highly experienced, professional, and nurturing, with a strong background in overnight newborn care. Candidates should possess:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience working as a Newborn Care Specialist</li>\n <li>Extensive experience providing overnight infant care and support for newborns and first-time parents</li>\n <li>Outstanding professional references that demonstrate reliability, discretion, warmth, and expertise</li>\n <li>A calm, proactive, and collaborative approach to supporting families during the newborn stage</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Requirements</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Valid U.S. Passport, Green Card, or Employment Authorization Card (EAC)</li>\n <li>Current vaccinations, including Flu, RSV, Tdap, and MMR</li>\n <li>Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification</li>\n <li>Availability to commit to the full contract term</li>\n <li>Ability to work overnight shifts consistently throughout the engagement</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Salary and Benefits</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>$30–$45 per hour</li>\n</ul>",
