This is an on-site position without opportunity for remote work. Shifts may also include early mornings, evenings, holidays and/or weekends. You will be expected to operate under tight deadlines, work collaboratively, and pitch story ideas. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Primary duties involve taking and editing audio from multiple sources including reporters, weather feeds, and network audio feeds.</li>\n <li>AP's will place phone calls to check on news stories, and use internet and other sources to follow up or gain insight for use in news stories.</li>\n <li>Additionally, answer telephones in a polite and helpful fashion.</li>\n <li>Recognize the urgency of telephone calls (immediate, routine, can wait)</li>\n <li>Answer listener questions, which may rerquire determination and ingenuity</li>\n <li>Screen calls from public relations firms, take messages for reporters</li>\n <li>Refer complaints to management; take in detailed news tips and forward immediately to the desk</li>\n <li>Call back people you have offered to help</li>\n <li>Perform work on very short deadlies with attention to detail</li>\n <li>Prioritize high volume of work, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned by management</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>More About You:</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Required & Preferred:</u></strong></p>\n<p>MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A college degree, with a concentration in broadcast journalism is preferred.</li>\n <li>Hands-on internships or experience at a college radio station is required.</li>\n <li>Must be familiar with digital audio editing techniques.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must follow news on a regular basis, have a working knowledge of the basic facts of topical news stories and demonstrate 'news judgment'.</li>\n <li>Assistant producers must be familiar with digital audio editing techniques.</li>\n <li>Must be familiar with basic technical standards including level noise and clarity of sound.</li>\n <li>Must be able to write clearly and juggle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assistant producers take much of their direction from the editor on the desk, who helps determine priorities for audio to be used on the air.</li>\n <li>Assistant producers work closely with editors, writers, reporters and anchors.</li>\n <li>When answering the phone, assistant producers represent the radio station to listeners and callers, and a must project a professional and unhurried image to callers.</li>\n <li>There is no remote option for this position.</li>\n <li>A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Important Notes:</h2>\n<p>Please be aware that Audacy will <strong>never</strong> ask you to send money at any point during the hiring process.
