You are responsible for troubleshooting technical challenges, monitoring workflow, and ensuring the team maintains Velocity’s high standards of quality and efficiency. As a leader, you will foster a collaborative environment, empowering technicians with the tools and knowledge to succeed, while driving continuous improvement in processes and productivity.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Job Level</span></span></p>\n<p>Individual Contributor</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Reports To</span></span></p>\n<p>Paint and Body Manager</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Duties and Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arrive 15 minutes before the shift starts, prepared to engage with the team on the production floor.</li>\n<li>Monitor workflow in the Paint and Body Department to ensure daily production goals are met.</li>\n<li>Ensure proper use of the station lighting system, addressing issues promptly as they arise.</li>\n<li>Identify and document recurring paint or bodywork issues, creating reference guides to improve processes.</li>\n<li>Respond to all emails promptly and follow up on unresolved matters before leaving for the day.</li>\n<li>Provide technical support for red tag items, ensuring accurate data and timely resolution.</li>\n<li>Conduct station sweeps with technicians during rotations, ensuring tasks are performed accurately and data is properly recorded.</li>\n<li>Assist with end-of-day cleanup and ensure technicians organize their workstations for optimal efficiency.</li>\n<li>Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in painting and bodywork while coaching, mentoring, and training team members.</li>\n<li>Communicate effectively with engineers, managers, and directors regarding process changes, ensuring all changes are approved before implementation.</li>\n<li>Provide guidance to technicians on repair or upgrade processes to maintain consistent quality.</li>\n<li>Uphold professional standards, including wearing Velocity polos and adhering to the company dress code.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Required Skills and Abilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.</li>\n<li>Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated technical expertise in automotive painting and bodywork processes.</li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills for professional interactions with managers, coworkers, and vendors.</li>\n<li>High level of dependability and a strong work ethic.</li>\n<li>Availability to provide after-hours support when necessary to meet production demands.</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s license and reliable daily transportation.</li>\n<li>Ability to work a minimum of 45-50 hours per week, on call as needed</li>\n<li>Pre-employment drug screening and background check required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Education Background and Experience</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years of well-rounded experience in automotive painting or bodywork, with leadership experience preferred.</li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of industry best practices, tools, and techniques.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Physical Demands (To include but not limited to) </span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prolonged periods of standing or walking around the workspace.</li>\n<li>Frequently lifting heavy objects, such as tools, parts, or equipment, often weighing up to 50-75 pounds.</li>\n<li>Regularly bending, stooping, or crouching to work on vehicles at different heights.</li>\n<li>Moving large or heavy equipment, carts, or vehicles within the shop.</li>\n<li>Precise manipulation of tools, small parts, and diagnostic equipment.</li>\n<li>Continuous use of hands, arms, and fingers for tasks like tightening bolts, sanding, or painting.</li>\n<li>Exposure to loud noises from power tools and machinery.</li>\n<li>Using equipment like impact wrenches or sanders that produce significant vibration.</li>\n<li>Working in non-climate-controlled environments, leading to exposure to heat or cold.</li>\n<li>Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals like solvents, oils, and paints.
