This position has an initial appointment of one year with the possibility of extension.
Location - This role is in-person at North Campus and South Campus, Edmonton.
Position Summary
The Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Science is looking for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to work with Dr. Ruurd Zijlstra, Professor in Swine & Carbohydrate Nutrition. Research in the group is focused on starch and fiber nutrition and feedstuff characterization and development.
Responsibilities
Responsible for qualitative and statistical analysis of research data and communicating this information to the PI Works with a high degree of independence and follows research directions developed by the PI Develops and performs experiments/analyses, troubleshoots experimental protocols, and adjusts methodology to attain desired results Prepare abstracts, research reports, and presentations under the direction of the PI Present research results at laboratory meetings, scientific conferences and other related events Provides guidance, training and oversight of summer students and graduate students Work effectively with other laboratory staff, industry partners, and collaborators
Qualifications
PhD in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science or a similar field Experience in animal handling and care Willingness to work with pigs Application Instructions
