    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\">Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a full time Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Department!</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager or Lead Phlebotomist the Phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for performing venipuncture and related procedures under the philosophy, policies and procedures established by the hospital and department.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\">Major Job Duties &amp; Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on neonates through geriatric populations.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Proficient in the collection of all types of culture as well as able to instruct patients on the safe and correct collection technique in accordance with department policies and guidelines.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Accurately orders and cancels tests in the Meditech LIS system. Ensures correct patient identification and information when performing computer accessions. </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Verifies patient identification prior to collection and labels patient specimens correctly.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Answers all telephone calls promptly and courteously. Obtains and delivers clear and accurate phone message, with primary emphasis on accuracy and superior customer relations and telephone etiquette</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Consistently demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize tasks, dealing with them promptly. Takes responsibility for completing all applicable tasks during work shift, without sacrificing quality of work.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Handles incoming specimens, including those for reference laboratory as well as the general laboratory.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\">Skills, Knowledge, &amp; Abilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must be able to perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on neonates through geriatric populations.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must have knowledge of the collection of all types of cultures as well as able to instruct patients on the safe and correct collection technique in accordance with department policies and guidelines.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must possess knowledge of the overall operation of the laboratory department to including office procedures, accounting / billing, ordering of supplies ,and availability as well as correct filing of all pertinent laboratory forms.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must possess ability to understand instructions, reason, and make sound medical judgments.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must possess ability to understand meaning of words, terminology, and ideas associated with the position.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must be able to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately at the high school level.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must possess ability to coordinate eyes and hands to fingers rapidly and accurately in making precise movements with sufficient speed and accuracy to perform invasive procedures.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must possess ability to perceive similarities and differences in color.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must possess sufficient hand and finger dexterity to perform assigned tasks.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must possess ability to perceive pertinent detail in verbal and or tabular material.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Excellent customer relations and communication skills required.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must be able to assist and respond to trauma events and post mortem examination.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\">Education Requirements</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">High school graduate or equivalent.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Medical assistant or phlebotomy certification preferred.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">If not nationally certified, must become so within 1 year from date of hire.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\">Experience</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">One year of experience preferred.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\">Schedule</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Per the needs of the department.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\">Benefits Package Available.</span></p>\n<p><span>Full-time benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, long-term disability (LTD), and life &amp; accidental death and dismemberment (AD&amp;D) insurance for you and your eligible family members, plus a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is committed to providing a safe, efficient, and productive work environment for all employees.
