The rule is effective November 5, 2021. Under the regulation, all eligible workers of Nexus Health Systems must be fully vaccinated by January 4, 2022.</span> <br><br>POSITION SUMMARY:<br><link href=\"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/css/froala_style.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"><div class=\"fr-view\"><p>Occupational Therapist develops and provides occupational therapy services to referred patients and serves as a patient advocate in the Therapy Department.</p><p>JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Evaluates, develop treatment plans to assigned patients.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Evaluates patients within two to three working days of physical referral, depending on level of care.&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Supervises rehabilitation technicians and COTAs in direct patient care and patient-related activities</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Treats patients according to treatment plans approved by attending physician. &nbsp;Provide treatments and monitor progress to assigned patients.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Communicates with the Director of Rehabilitation, physicians and other team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. &nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates as necessary in patient care conferences and weekly rehabilitation meetings.&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Documents treatment and outcomes daily according to accepted regulatory, corporate and professional guidelines. &nbsp;Complete all required documentations of patient care to accepted regulatory, corporate and professional guidelines in a timely manner.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates in policy and procedure meetings.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates in In-Service Training Programs with staff to achieve a high standard of care by all staff.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Records daily treatments and charges with respect to department policy.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Establishes and instructs caregivers in patient specific maintenance programs. &nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates in discharge planning.&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Secures necessary durable medical equipment and adaptive equipment for patients to facilitate independence.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Serves as clinical preceptor for affiliating Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant schools.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Communicates and coordinates clinical services department functions with other departments to achieve cohesion and effectiveness.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Communicates with the Director of Rehabilitation regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems and successes.&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Complies with state regulations and national standards as they apply to the practice of Occupational Therapy.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Demonstrates knowledge of Occupational Therapy equipment utilized in different procedures, for example, traction, ultrasound, whirlpool, etc.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Utilizes resources appropriately and uses/maintains equipment in order to prolong working life.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Performs other duties as assigned.</p><p>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:</p><p>EDUCATION:</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Graduate of a Bachelor&rsquo;s level program in Occupational Therapy. &nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Masters and Doctorate degree preferred</p><p>EXPERIENCE:</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Minimum of three years working in a rehab setting.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Neuro experience preferred</p><p>LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Licensed by the State of Practice in Occupational Therapy&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Certified in CPR and CPI</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Maintain current certification in good standing during employment with this facility, or, obtain within thirty (30) days</p><p><br></p></div></div></div></div>\n",
