Description

Overview Payroll Compensation Analyst Location: Leon’s Home Office Reports to: HR Development Manager Position Overview Leon’s is currently seeking a Compensation Analyst to join our Human Resources team at Home Office. This role is responsible for supporting the design, administration, and ongoing management of compensation programs across the organization, while providing data-driven insights through HR systems and reporting. A key focus of this role will be the development and implementation of job bands and salary structures, as well as supporting the launch of our performance management module as we move toward implementation and go-live. We are seeking a candidate with direct, hands-on experience in compensation program design and implementation who can bring practical knowledge and structure to these initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable building and enhancing programs from the ground up. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of job bands, salary structures, and job evaluation frameworks across the organization Support the design and launch of the performance management module, ensuring alignment with compensation programs and processes Administer base pay and incentive programs, including merit increases and bonus plans Conduct job evaluations and maintain internal equity and market competitiveness Provide recommendations on compensation changes in line with company guidelines and philosophy Participate in annual salary surveys, benchmarking, and audit processes Prepare compensation analysis and reporting to support HR and leadership decision-making Leverage HRIS, payroll, and compensation data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities Support offer development, including compensation recommendations and employment documentation Maintain and ensure accuracy of compensation data within HR systems Assist with compensation budgeting and forecasting processes Partner with HR, Payroll, and business leaders to provide guidance on compensation practices Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting efficiencies Participate in special projects and other duties as required Education & Experience Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field Minimum 3–5 years of direct experience in compensation program design and administration Proven experience building job bands, salary structures, or job evaluation frameworks is required Experience supporting or implementing performance management systems or modules is strongly preferred Experience in a retail or multi-location environment is considered an asset Experience with HRIS systems such as ADP Workforce Now (WFN) is preferred Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation, or in-progress, is an asset Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling Ability to interpret data and translate it into clear, actionable recommendations Strong understanding of compensation principles, job evaluation methodologies, and market benchmarking Working knowledge of Canadian employment standards and legislation Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information Demonstrated initiative and ability to identify and implement process improvements Self-starter with the ability to work independently and contribute as part of a high performing team We offer: Comprehensive Employee Benefit Package after 3 months Profit Sharing Employee Discounts & Partner Discount Programs The chance to be part of a financially stable, well-respected, truly Canadian company with opportunities for growth from coast to coast Continuous, quality education and training on our products and sales techniques Compensation: $50,000/yr to $65,000/yr Working Requirements: In Office at our Toronto/North York Home Office Additional Information: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use: Leon’s may use AI tools to support the recruitment and selection process (e.g., screening resumes, scheduling interviews).
