We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:
Join a team of remarkable nurses that use compassion and teamwork to care for high acuity general care level patients on the 28 bed Acute Care General Surgery unit. Provide post-operative care to patients undergoing complex abdominal surgeries involving the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas (Whipple procedure), gallbladder, and bile ducts. Be part of a team of nurses that are skilled in providing post-operative surgical care for acutely ill patients. Become an expert in management of surgical drains, nasogastric tube placement, administering enteral nutrition, complex wound care with use of would vacs, epidural and PCA pain pump management, and stoma care. Collaborate with multiple surgical services including general surgery, minimally invasive surgery, emergency surgery, and surgical oncology as well as specialty certified Wound and Ostomy RNs. Work in a setting that fosters a culture of professional development through continuing education, support for professional certifications, and mentorship. Be involved in cutting edge, evidence-based therapies and research studies to improve patient outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change.
