    "descriptionText": "Salary: USD 80,000–100,000\n\n Description\n\nThe Planned Giving Manager will lead the Planned Giving Team in executing Animal Humane Society’s strategy for promoting planned giving engagement among current donors, stewarding existing Legacy Circle members, and monitoring the timeliness and accuracy of estate processing.\n\n Essential Functions \n\n Donor Relationships: \n\n Manage pipeline of planned giving prospects by tracking and documenting their engagement as well as facilitating their planned gifts.\n Cultivate and steward Legacy Circle members to ensure they stay connected to Animal Humane Society and continue their support.\n Make meaningful contact with donors and prospects to increase support, sustain engagement, and foster relationships.\n Reinforce the donor cultivation cycle and pipeline.\n\n Estate Processing: \n\n Track open estates and communicate with the Finance Team about expected amount and timing.\n Administer and oversee the probate and/or claim process for realized planned gifts.\n Work with attorneys and personal representatives to advocate for the bequest donor’s intentions and AHS’s interests.\n\n Leadership: \n\n Lead the strategy for the Planned Giving Team, executing high quality cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.\n Collaborate on creating communication materials, budgets, and revenue expectations.\n Lead and supervise the Planned Giving Officer and Senior Planned Giving Advisor to ensure they have the necessary tools and support to do their work.\n\n Marketing Promotion: \n\n Manage the strategic promotion and design of materials encouraging donors to include Animal Humane Society in their estate plans. This includes tracking the results of promotions and campaigns, determining new channels for promotion, working closely with the Marketing Team, and managing budget implications.\n Collaborate across the organization to compliment other promotion plans. Work closely with other internal experts to develop solutions to our integrated work.\n Develop new audiences and campaigns for planned giving outreach.\n\n Communication and Culture: \n\n Make meaningful contact with donors and prospects to increase donor support and gift commitment.\n Communicate in a positive and professional manner with customers, other employees, and volunteers.\n Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion to make AHS a welcoming environment for all.\n\n Technology: \n\n Utilize Virtuous for donor and prospect data management.\n Monitor AHS email and other messaging software.\n\n Other duties as assigned. \n\n Requirements\n\n Experience: \n\n 2+ years of leadership experience in planned giving required.\n 5+ years of major and planned gift experience that includes developing strategies for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts of $10,000+.\n Knowledge of the probate process and planned giving practices is required.\n Database and CRM experience preferred.\n\n Skills: \n\n Proficient with computers, specifically a working knowledge of Microsoft products.\n Demonstrates strong critical thinking and a high level of emotional intelligence in decision making and interpersonal interactions.\n Demonstrates strong multitasking, conflict resolution, and problem solving abilities while maintaining a positive, professional approach and close attention to detail in a variety of situations.\n Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.\n\n Schedule and Attendance: \n\n Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during operational hours.\n Attend and participate in regular team meetings, leadership meetings, all staff meetings, and one on one meetings with direct leader.\n May be required to work at a different site based on departmental needs.\n May be required to attend occasional off site meetings and events.\n\n Work Environment: \n\n Primarily office/desk based.\n Adjacent animal shelter areas may be humid, noisy, or odorous.\n\n Physical Demands: \n\n Prolonged sitting at a desk.\n Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.\n\n Emotional Demands: \n\n Must be comfortable with the emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of humane euthanasia.\n\n Transportation: \n\n Reliable transportation required.\n\n Benefits\n\n About AHS  \n\nEvery year, Animal Humane Society provides direct care and services to help thousands of animals in need across Minnesota. \n\nAs one of the nation's leading animal welfare organizations, AHS is transforming the way shelters care for animals and engage their communities.
