    "ExternalQualificationsStr": "<p><strong>Minimums:</strong></p><p><strong>Assistant Director @ $19.49/Hour</strong></p><p>Performing supervisory and administrative duties, including managing recreation activities, and processing participant and program evaluations.</p><ul><li>High school diploma, GED or equivalent; plus</li><li>Some experience working with youth or administering recreation programs.</li></ul><p><strong>Director @ $23.46/Hour</strong></p><p>Directing summer camp programs, developing curriculum, and performing administrative duties. &nbsp;</p><ul><li>High school diploma, GED or equivalent; plus</li><li>Considerable experience administering recreation programs; including&nbsp;</li><li>Some experience leading/supervising recreation programs.*</li></ul><p><strong>*Substitution:</strong> Completion of some college coursework may substitute for the experience requirement for the Director only. &nbsp;</p><p><strong>Licenses/Certifications: </strong>Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire (Training provided by Department.)</p><p><strong>Desirables: </strong>Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Working in Summer Camp programs or Arlington Camps;</li><li>Teaching art and working with children; and/or</li><li>Experience/willingness to work with individuals with disabilities.</li></ul><p>Successful candidates will have good character and integrity, effective communication skills, and reliable transportation, including the ability to complete tasks, take initiative, and work successfully in a team environment.</p><p><strong>Special Requirements</strong></p><p>If selected, all summer staff may be required to:</p><ul><li>Agree to a criminal background check (for applicants 18 years and older).</li><li>Provide references, which will be requested at time of interview.&nbsp;</li><li>Attend all required trainings, wear a uniform, and ability to lift up to 25 lbs.&nbsp;</li><li>Stand and walk for a prolonged periods of time during the work shift.</li><li>Be CPR and First Aid Certified as of the first day of camp for the Camp Director or other designated positions.</li><li>Possess a driver's license and complete a successful driving license record check (for applicants 18 years and older).</li><li>Provide personal care as needed to campers (training provided).</li><li>Arlington County requires that all employees have a bank account to accept direct payroll deposits. &nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Information</strong></p><p><strong>Work Hours:</strong> May vary between 35-40 hours per week, 7-8 hours a day between the hours of 8am-6pm.</p><p><strong>Employee Discount:</strong> Summer camp employees can receive a 20% discount on camp fees for their children!
