We’re looking for a dedicated level 1 <strong>Maintenance Technician</strong> to support the upkeep of our campus facilities. Reporting to the Maintenance Director, you’ll handle a variety of general maintenance tasks—including painting, some plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, landscaping, and overall building repairs. This role requires quick thinking, a strong sense of responsibility, and the flexibility to occasionally respond outside of standard business hours. Building healthy, reciprocal relationships with our youth is a special focus of Calo employees.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform a wide range of facility maintenance tasks including painting, drywall repair, lighting, electrical, plumbing, glazing, carpentry (framing and trim), and flooring installation.</li>\n <li>Handle routine groundskeeping duties such as mowing, weed eating, snow removal, and general landscaping across all properties.</li>\n <li>Complete scheduled and seasonal maintenance including HVAC and furnace filter changes, water heater upkeep, floor care (buffing and waxing), and minor vehicle maintenance.</li>\n <li>Conduct regular property walk-throughs to identify maintenance needs, ensure safety compliance, and complete work orders promptly.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize tasks, manage materials, attend required trainings and meetings, and be available for on-call responsibilities as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Skilled in general handyman work with at least 5 years of professional maintenance experience</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Experience in Residential Construction/ Maintenance strongly preferred</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Creative problem-solver who can think outside the box and work collaboratively</li>\n <li>Physically capable of being on their feet all day, including climbing stairs and performing hands-on tasks</li>\n <li>Eager to learn and grow in a dynamic maintenance environment</li>\n <li>Must have valid Driver license and live within a 45-mile radius of the campus</li>\n <li>High school diploma or GED</li>\n <li>At least 21 years of age</li>\n <li>Ability to pass a federal background check, physical, and drug screening</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance</strong> – Multiple plan options including PPO and HDHPs with HSA eligibility and company contributions.</li>\n <li><strong>Paid Parental Leave</strong> – Up to 6 weeks fully paid for exempt employees and 4 weeks for non-exempt.</li>\n <li><strong>Life & Disability Coverage</strong> – Company-paid life, AD&D, and long-term disability; voluntary life and optional short-term disability available.</li>\n <li><strong>401(k) with Company Match</strong> – Retirement savings with matching contributions after eligibility period.</li>\n <li><strong>PTO & Holidays</strong> – Competitive PTO accrual plans and paid holidays throughout the year.</li>\n <li><strong>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</strong> – Free, confidential support for life’s challenges.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>CALO is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.</strong> We are committed to enriching the therapeutic and healing experience we offer through the diversity of our employees and community.
