Veterinary Assistant - Animal Emergency Clinic Location: Grand Terrace, CA Full-Time | Overnights I Weekend & Holiday Shifts Required Compensation: VA: $21-$25/hr RVT: $26-$35/hr About Animal Emergency Clinic (AEC) Located in Grand Terrace, California, Animal Emergency Clinic is a long-standing, AAHA-accredited emergency veterinary hospital proudly serving the Inland Empire for over 50 years. We specialize in after-hours emergency and critical care, with a plan to expand to 24/7 operations in the near future. Our beautiful, modern facility supports a high-quality, fast-paced veterinary experience where your skills will truly make an impact. Key Responsibilities Assist with patient triage, restraint, and treatments Obtain accurate patient vitals and monitor hospitalized patients Perform confident venipuncture and blood sample collection Place, maintain, and remove IV catheters Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Provide compassionate nursing care to critical and hospitalized patients   Assist with surgical procedures, including patient prep, positioning, and recovery Monitor anesthesia (TPR, ECG, SpO₂, blood pressure, ETCO₂ when applicable) Maintain sterile technique and assist with instrument handling Monitor patients during recovery and report concerns promptly  Run and process in-house diagnostics (bloodwork, cytology, urinalysis) Assist with radiographs and imaging Support oxygen therapy, fluid therapy, and emergency interventions Accurately document treatments, procedures, and patient care Schedule & Compensation • Full-time role with evening, weekend, and holiday shifts required Qualifications • Minimum of 2+ years experience in emergency • Proficient in technical skills: venipuncture, catheter placement, patient monitoring, assisting in surgery • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Passionate about emergency medicine and advancing veterinary care • Reliable, motivated, and calm under pressure Benefits • Medical, dental, and vision coverage • 401(k) with employer match • Paid time off including holidays and sick leave • Employee assistance programs • Continuing education and career development opportunities • Supportive, collaborative team culture in a cutting-edge facility Apply today to elevate your career in emergency veterinary care!
