Overview Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, a member hospital of Dartmouth Health, is seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Orthopaedic Surgeon with expertise in Hip Arthroplasty to join a team of established Orthopaedic Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Opportunity Highlights Include: Established orthopedic physicians and advanced practice providers who are invested in teamwork and optimal patient outcomes Caring and professional staff of nurses, medical assistants and patient coordinators Supportive administration, quality care and a focus on provider and patient satisfaction Robot-Assisted Surgery Salary Range $600,000 - $633,000 Incentive compensation may be available in addition to base salary. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off and CME support). A sign-on bonus and relocation stipend may also be available, subject to eligibility. Hospital Employed position (Dartmouth Health) SVMC is an integrated, non-profit health system and has a proud 100-year history as an innovator in health care delivery. It includes a 99-bed hospital and 25 primary care and specialty practices at nine total locations in the greater Bennington area and nearby New York and Massachusetts. Responsibilities Provide clinical and related administrative services to ensure timely care of patients. Abide by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct. Review records and detailed medical history from patient(s). Determine appropriate diagnosis (diagnoses) and treatment plan(s). Determine and order appropriate screening and diagnostic tests and studies. Obtain informed consent for treatment diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and studies. Interpret and evaluate test and study results. Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical devices in accordance within specialty scope of practice and applicable rules and regulations. Initiate referrals to other providers as necessary. Initiate admission/discharge of patients, if applicable. Provide consultation, education, and counseling regarding the management of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries. Encourage behavioral change and assist with self-management skills to improve overall health, within specialty scope of practice. Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner. Provide patient and family-centered care. Insure the patient’s right to privacy, confidentiality and informed consent. Supervise APP’s as directed. Participate in continuing medical education (CME). Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO) Post graduate training in residency and fellowship program Required Licensure/Certifications Current or eligible for Vermont Medical License Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years) Active hospital staff membership
